Children under 8 age might find the screws and wiring a bit fiddly the age range 8 to 10 tackle the projects independently. They are made for high Quality wood. This kit is value for money because we can get 5 kits. The size of the kit makes them ideal for display on desk or bookshelf once completed, the wooden 3D puzzles are relatively sturdy for light play. This is an excellent gift for birthdays or holidays.

What a fantastic toy kit. The 5 kits came complete with their own directions and small screw driver. The 8 year old followed directions and was able to assemble the car and tank. The younger one needed help with building anything so I ended up doing the other three. There were some parts that seemed a bit insecure after assembly so I used a drop of wood glue so some parts to give it more stability. Also used some electrical tape to help secure the wires to the motor. All the vehicles work great. Seeing the gears move, wind push and pull the airplane and car, seeing how the tank can roll over objects fascinated the kids for hours. I use rechargeable batteries and this allows for them to play with these for as long as they want. (Just recharge the batteries again). It was great to see the finally product and the boys were really happy with it. Great purchase and I'm looking into other sets for future gifting.

My eight year old grandson and I built the SUV last Saturday. He did most of the construction (learning to follow directions patiently is a big benefit). The motor burned out immediately, so I bought a new one on Amazon (actually 6 for $6), and we installed it today - all good learning experiences for him. The car works like a charm, and he thinks it looks cool.

The kit is really neat, but several of the switches for the battery box are faulty. My 7-year-old gets better at the building with each vehicle and has really enjoyed it.

We assembled 3 of the 5 toys. Each toy is bagged separately and the instruction booklets were loose in the box. The bags were not labeled, so we had to look at the pictures in the booklets and match it up with the parts in the bag. It's all "assemble by picture". Sometimes it could get frustrating. EX - putting a gear on the left side instead of the right caused the car to go in reverse. And of course it was step 2 of a 15 step process! So we had to take it all apart and redo it. Wood panels are fragile. If the kid gets too aggressive with tightening the (tiny) screws, the wood can split. Extra screws are provided in each packet. The 2 screwdrivers provided are magnetic, which makes it more convenient. Overall, it was still fun. I had a 4, 8 and 9 yr old each put together their own car. The older kids were able to do 90% of it themselves. *The airplane does not 'drive'', only the propeller spins. (or we assembled it wrong, which is also possible) The jeep is surprisingly faster than the race car

Perfect for my busy boys. This has kept them busy for days since getting it for Christmas. My boys are 7 and 8 and were able to assemble easily. They only needed assistance with the wiring. It has been a fun activity to do with them.

Some of the vehicles we couldn’t complete because batteries overheated as soon as we added. Vehicles didn’t hold up well poor design not enough support pieces for axles and other pieces. Cheap quality. Wish I would have bought a different gift. Child disappointed at lack of durability.

The 5-in-1 Steam Kits were a huge hit with my boys during our Trail Life meeting! We used them to talk about modeling, and they fit perfectly into our lesson. The boys had a blast working with them, and they were easy to use while still being engaging. I’ll definitely be ordering them again for our next hobbies class. I’m also planning to get more kits for my son’s homeschool curriculum. Highly recommend for hands-on learning and creativity!
