Excellent Product but Very Messy & Greasy
One of my girls brought home lice from school. It hasn't been a pleasant experience trying to tackle them. After more than a month of trying to remove everything from their thick hair, numerous pesticide treatments (RID or drugstore brand lice treatments, daily washings of bedding, and multiple times a day combing through hair with fine-tooth lice combs, I decided to give LiceMD a try. This is a great product. It goes on very thick, but that's what makes it easy to take out nits. Dead lice came out in droves. Before we discovered my daughter was infested, it had spread to my other daughter and me. Thankfully, my hair is very short, so I was able to treat myself twice with RID and it was done. But one of my girls has very dark, extremely thick hair, so it's almost impossible to see the lice or the nits and make sure you get them all. Because LiceMD is so thick, it made removal a breeze. I would put towels down on the floor before or after applying, because when you use the included comb to remove the lice, globs of product slides out with it, and can drip off the comb. In addition, it's handy to have a roll of paper towels around to wipe off the comb. I used toothpicks to remove dead lice from in between the comb's teeth. By far, LiceMD removed more lice and nits than the pesticide treaments and oil olive we tried in the past. My recommendation would be once you are done with removal to wash the hair two or three times with a clarifying shampoo mixed with baking soda. This will help to strip the product out of the hair afterwards. Using a clairying shampoo alone doesn't seem strong enough to cut through it and will leave the hair stringy. If you can stand the mess and extra washing, I would recommend using this. I am so thrilled I found it because we were at our wit's end.

works for coarse hair. my daughter is African American
My daughter is African American with really coarse hair. So if u have a black kid that ends up with lice this will work. I think she got it from one of the white kids in her school. I cant lie....i was really upset about this. Who sends there kid to school with lice. Smh.....I went to emergency room they prescribed us Rid. The Lice still came back after a week and the bottle was really small. So i went on Amazon and got this product. Its really oily and great for those with coarse hair like my daughter.I dont see any nits. However, i sectioned off her hair and combed thru each sections 2-3 minutes just to make sure that they were gone. I reapplied the product three hours later just to be sure. And will be reapplying the next day. I want to make sure that they are all gone. Its no bugs crawling. Just the nits were stuck to her hair. Hopefully they wont come bck. But if they do, i will keep using this product. Also, i recommend purchasing two at a time. Five stars for me!!

Useful for suffocating the lice
Found this product helpful for getting the live lice out. I like the fact you can see the dead lice as you comb them out. However, we were still left with many eggs, even after doing a very thorough comb out with it. Kept using the Nit Terminator afterwards to get rid of of the eggs. My daughter didn't get her's back because we combed twice/wk for 4 weeks afterward, but I must have missed some eggs and got mine back after using this product, and had to use it again. Will retreat in 10 days this time and keep doing my comb outs. This product isn't very pleasant to use either because it is so thick. And no matter how careful we are with it still makes our hardwood floors extremely slippery. Still, it is nice to have a non-pesticide alternative.

Worked great after one treatment!
My three year old has a pretty bad case of head lice. Last week we used Nix- it was pretty useless and I was still finding lots of nits, eggs, and adults in her hair. So today we applied LiceMD based on a friend's recommendation, and every single thing I combed out of her hair was dead as a door nail. It's kind of messy, but I don't mind messy if it actually works. I just put a smock on her and covered the chair and floor with towels. Also, we didn't bother even trying to use the plastic combs it comes with- went straight to the metal "terminator" comb. I'll update this review once I can confirm the lice are gone for good. Update: we never needed a second application, this killed everything in one shot!

Not Fun, But Reliable
This stuff actually works. All the lice die, and they die right away. I've used the pesticide stuff, and it just doesn't work. They kill some bugs, but never all. That's because many lice have developed resistance. This stuff kills them in a different way, and it works. It's not quite suffocation, I think, but similar. You just find them dead and drowned in this goo when you comb through it. It doesn't kill the eggs, but it seems to loosen them well, so the comb removes mot of them. I follow up with nit picking, but find very few. Combing is far easier than with pesticide brands. This stuff is basically an ingredient found in conditioner, so it is easy on the hair. No bad smell either!

save your money...get a new comb
Did'nt like the smell/chemicals. Here's what I did find helpful: For parents wanting lice treatment. There is really only 1 safe way to go. I have 2 gals in school ages 10 and 8. This is a split custody home (important to know). I have literally been to court over nonstop lice issues over the past years, the only way I was able to get this resolved was as follows. Wash hair, they do it ok now they are older, but scrub around and do the best. Dry the hair out a bit (not all the way). Brush the hair out with their own brush (I have nail polish on the brushes to eliminate that's mine), here's the time consuming part. I put on a TV show they like, and get Toilet Paper. I then brush with a large comb lice comb (we have a red one from another company), the large side first to pull the 'big' ones off first and remove some of the knots. After that is done I swap over to the fine tooth comb. If you are doing it correctly you will hear complaints. The metal teeth need to be in contact with the scalp ALL THE TIME, start at the part and work your way down. I repeat this process 1 per child every other day. When my kids are gone on the weekends, we strip the beds and put in the wash and use the dryer to heat up their clothes to kill any lice/eggs/ etc. 4 years of lice dealings. I did everything I could under the sun, this is the second year of being vigilant and on top of things, so far I have found no eggs this school year (December 1 2015).

It helps
Works for the bugs but not the eggs. Has a very oily texture. Overall, pretty good.
