Kizami Nori (Dried Seaweed Sliced) - 1oz (Pack of 1)

I used to busy myself painstakingly cutting up sheets of sushi nori by folding it over by hand and cutting with scissors. No longer! Now I can just open a jar and pull out a handful of kizami nori to add extra flavor and nutritional garnish to my Japanese and Korean food!

This was the perfect topping to my new year’s soba. Get a chopstick full of it from the container and plop it on top of the soba then get a bite full and dip into the hontsuru and enjoy. Soba makes for an easy meal and nori or Naruto (or both) make for a perfect topping. This is one oz, but you get a ton of it, they really packed it in. It’s about what I would pay at the Asian market as well, so value is good and it saves me a trip. It’s good for what it is and I grew up eating it, so there’s some nostalgia for me. This isn’t your Korean flavored seaweed. There’s a little stiffness to it, but not as much as the roasted sheets and this isn’t flavored.

I keep this in the pantry because it's more convenient than cutting my own from nori sheets. It's good on poké bowls, zaru soba, etc. I just wish it was a tad bit finer shreds.

Tastes okay, but it is Chinese and not Japanese.

just what i needed

I don't usually buy nori but I had a hankering for some and did a little shopping. I came across a few that included in their product pictures the Prop 65 warning. I'm sure a little nori won't hurt anyone - I hope - but I just decided "not for me" and kept clicking around. Then I found this one - with a single picture on the product page, conveniently not showing these warning labels either in-picture or mentioning them anywhere under product descriptions. (As a side note I didn't notice the labels, even after opening the package, until about a night or two after receiving and consuming the product - which is of course on me.) The nori tasted fine. I would just have appreciated it if the seller was more transparent about the product, showing the full package with any and all warnings that might be included. That way, those who don't care for them can continue with their purchase, fully informed - and those who would prefer to look for something else can continue their shopping - well informed.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I love this product and have always struggled to find it in person, glad to finally get my hands on it!
