Is this actually for a 4x4 post?

Hi Kayla, yes it is for a 4x4 post. We sprayed them black and used them for a fish tank stand and they look great!

what size lumber does this fit for the sides and corner post?

I used 4x4 for corner posts and 2x4 for sides. RTC24 takes 2x4 for corner and sides. Simple planning should take care of any project designs. I used 8 - RTC42 for 8 corners. 4 for table top and 4 for shelf about a foot off the ground. 4-4x4 posts for corners. I used 2x4 I had left over from deck projects for sides. To be honest this was overkill for my 2.5ftX8ft work bench. I also added heavy duty wheels to push my bench around in the garage.

can this be mounted to a concrete foundation wall?

Not easily. I love these ties - simple solution that is sturdy with 4x4 posts. I’m not sure what your set up is but if you were using 3 posts it would work but if you’re mounting to concrete and thinking of removing 2 of the 4x4 - it would not be sturdy
