Is the lowest speed truly low? We have a mixer that is turbo and shocking on level 1, so are curious.

I would say this one is also shockingly fast on level 1. I was surprised by a face full of flour the first time I used it. Even now, something goes flying out of the bowl every time I've used the mixer. I have never had to use any speed over level 1.
