In general. Raspberry Pi's are excellent devices. Buy the model for the speed and functions that you need for your application. This seller has them at a good price point. I used mine in a MAME system and it works wonderfully. It has no speed issues keeping up with the emulation demands. The UBS and other ports work perfectly. I haven't had a need to add heat sinks, but those are easily available and simple to attach if you find the need for them.

I love these little things. I only get the 8gb models and they perform great and there is so much you can do with them. If you have a little bit extra cash I would reclínenos getting a pi 5 as the improvements are noticeable but still a nice little pc for the price

It's a pi. It does pi things. Zero complaints.

Edit: A good system for learning, but its at a heavy learning curve if you come from a windows computer. I learned more on a regular computer about linux, but I learned more with this about adaptability and perseverance. This device has left me smashing my head against the wall for hours and hours trying one after another the 5 different ways to install the same thing, with no luck on any of them. Packages are updated so fast today, that a lot ofstuff you can get for these is obsolete by the time we buy them, and it makes things difficult, but every advance feel like a legitimate victory. If you want to learn new stuff and feel like you're emerging a tech guru, get it. If you want a plug and play system without a headache, don't. That's the truth.

When my old desktop computer died and I priced a replacement I decided to try a PI. That was several years ago. I run Debian Linux or Devuan Linux and am quite happy with the result.

I've had these Pi's running various linux distros and doing various tasks, such as a 24/7 discord bot (One has been faithfully running multiple discord bots for over a year), 24/7 timelapse (One is taking photos every 15 seconds, compiling them into a video every night at midnight) and many other things. Honestly I haven't found anything they can't do yet. Always top quality from Raspberry Pi :) The only downfall of official RPi's is their availability, which is nonexistent, resulting in ultra-inflated prices.

This was my 3rd Pi4; I already had one 4GB unit for PiHole and PiVPN and one 4GB as a FlightRadar24 receiver. Truth be told that the 8GB RAM were an overkill for my needs, but this one got a Kodi media server installed on it.

Currently there is a stock shortage of this line of products globally. Found this seller's product to be reasonably priced by comparison, give or take $80. Using this to host my OctoPrint software for an Ender 3 V2. You won't need the 8gb version to do this but it was the best option available to me at time of purchase. There have been zero issues with this in any regard and that alone deserves the 5 stars as I expected something. Ensure that you get a case and the stick-on heat sinks at bare minimum if you plan on buying this item.

This board is not able to read 1080p video from YouTube without massively dropping frames!!! Chromium browser which came as default with Pi OS does not support hardware encoding so you can forget YouTube or game streaming services using the browser like GeForce now. The build quality is excellent on the other hand.
