A good, basic, very bright ceiling light.
A very simple ceiling light, that is very bright. This is a very straightforward, plastic LED ceiling light. Build wise, it's perfectly OK. The soldering is not the prettiest, but perfectly adequate for the task. (photos). The light itself is an array of 256 LEDs in a 16 x 16 grid. I have included a photo of the LEDs with 30v powering them. This is to see if they are well matched, with no weak spots. As you an hopefully see, all of the LEDs are of equal brightness. This is, a very good thing, and means that they should all consume similar power, and consequently there should be no weak link. (Photo 3). The mounting is a very simple slide mount. It works well, with all the electrical contacts being made from copper/brass, as you would hope. Putting the light onto a meter, you can see that at 240v it is pulling 34.6w. Well within the range I would expect for a light labelled as 36w. (Photo 1). It comes with 2 x screws and wallplugs, and 2 x 'rocker' type connectors to join the mounting bracket to your mains wiring. I'm not a big fan of these connectors, (although they are perfectly safe) and connected mine with 221 type Wagos. It's very easy to fit. The light itself is very light at 300g, so should easily mount to any type of ceiling. It does need to sit flush against the ceiling, so if you have a ceiling rose, you will need to remove it. Once up, it's not the most stylish, but it is bright. (Photo 5). At a colour temperature of 4000k, it certainly isn't warm and cosy, but it gives a good neutral white light, best suited to a kitchen or bathroom. (It is actually brighter than it appears in the photo, I had to tone down the exposure, to stop it completely washing out the picture.) Overall, I'm very pleased with the light. It is rather utilitarian, but is perfect for my kitchen. Like most of these lights the LEDs will, more than likely, last a very long time. What will eventually fail first, will be a component in the internal driver circuit. Hopefully this will not happen for a good while, but, if, or when this occurs I shall update this review accordingly. I hope you found this review helpful.

Great light - dodgy connections!
I bought this for use in my 12 x 8 foot summer house which is going to be used as a hobby/craft room so I needed a bright white light. The light is beautifully bright, very white (daylight option) and covers this area very well. It looks ok on the ceiling - it's not going to win any awards for beauty, but it is nice and compact unlike some others on the market and the price speaks for itself. I can't comment on longevity of the thing because it's only been up and working for about 4 weeks however I can comment on the connectors that were supplied with the light and I will...... I posted a question because I removed the light to paint behind it and hey presto when I slipped it back in it did not work (thanks everyone for your answers!). It turns out that simply removing the light (and I did it gently) was enough to dislodge the wires in the little white connectors. Suffice to say I got it fixed by reseating the wires in the connector but I fully intend to get it replaced with a more robust connector asap. This is a bit rubbish don't you think? I think so anyway, but you get what you pay for I suppose so my advice is, as others have said, replace these silly little connectors with some nice robust ones and you should be ok!

With great power comes great responsibility
I bought this unit to replace an old Ikea pendant fitting which weighed about 8 tons and consumed a halogen bulb every six minutes. I also wanted to bring more of an office feel to the room, as it is no longer a bedroom but, well, an office. I also sought out a fitting which would put out a bit more light than your ordinary flush fitting. As you can see this one is rated at 3240 LM. Let me tell you - they ain't playin'. I fitted it relatively easily. As it is extremely lightweight, a couple of screws straight through the plaster into the laths was enough. The one obstacle is that that the instructions are little generic. Once you work out that you have to *slide* the central bit sideways to detach it, the rest was a breeze. It's supplied with those connectors that you squeeze to release, so no need even for a screwdriver for the connecting stage. But the best bit was when I turned it on. Yes, I was expecting it to be a little brighter. Turns out 3240 LM is a LOT of LMs. As I type this my pupils are the size of full stops. My wife, who unwisely joined me for the unveiling, still has after images. WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram went down. NASA had to turn some of its satellite cameras off. Moths are coming from as far away as Russia. What I'm trying to say is - it's bright. As you'd expect from the color temperature, it's also a very white light, which gives the room much more of an office feel. And actually, it's good to work by. I have had to do a bit more cleaning though, as you can now see stuff. So in summary - if you are looking for coziness, or for your pupils not to be the size of full stops, look elsewhere. If you want some serious, serious lighting power in an elegant, small package, you've found it.

Not suitable for a bathroom due to its design
A really good powerful light, but would question if suitable for a bathroom. The light fitting when connected doesn’t sit flush against the ceiling, but hangs slightly all around its edges as it’s only connection to its mounting is at its centre. As such, it is likely to get condensation sitting in it and that’s a concern for electrical safety. Any other room but a bathroom and it’s a great light.
