I was tasked with finding a way to hang a folding chair in the closet of some family members. The chair had to fit on the wall behind the door and be out of the way even with the door open, but be readily accessible when visitors were over (the apartment is quite small so the chair can't stay out all the time). I knew I wanted a dark finish to match the black chair, and I wanted relatively long, flat hooks to make it easier to hang/remove the chair. The chair itself weighs less than 15 pounds so nothing super strong was needed, but I did want something durable. These hooks were a total shot in the dark. I was going by the pictures and the reviews. They looked good and were inexpensive so I took a chance and ordered them. Installation was easy-- a level, stud finder, tape measure and screw gun were all that I needed. I anchored them high up on the wall into the studs about 16" apart. I think the studs were steel (surprise, surprise) but the supplied screws had no trouble biting in and holding securely. They'd probably do even better in wood studs, and I didn't even have to pre-drill any holes (which is good because I forgot my drill bits at home and was too lazy to go out and buy any). The hooks look good and fold out of the way when not needed, though there's enough clearance in my application that folding isn't required. I like the black finish and the square shape, but of course that is a personal preference. They appear strong enough for my use but I certainly wouldn't hang a ton of weight off of them. These were a better alternative to what I saw at the local home improvement store, and I'm glad I bought them. We'll see how they hold up in the long run.

I like these coat hooks a lot, they look great and the fold-up is very convenient. My only complaint is that the screw holes are countersunk, meaning that there is not much (or rather, not any) play for adjusting the hook to get it perfectly straight up/down once the screws are tightened. Yes, one could do a better job than I did getting the screws just right (I did use a bubble level and took care, but since one can't get the screwdriver perfectly straight onto the bottom screw-hole, the screw sometimes slightly misses the mark.) It would be nice if these had a bit of left-right "slop" in the lower screw hole so that slight adjustments could be made.)

They look classy. They hold a lot of weight like a 20 pound swim bag or school backpack at least love them because they folded up have received many compliments.

I use these to hang our hats in the caravan, using double sided tape, when not in use you just push them shut left looking neat and tidy with no risk of banging into them.
