If you are sat outdoors how do you silence it till needed

It has a 3 position switch. 1)Off 2)Chime sounds for 1 second only when door is opened, then stops. 3)Alarm sounds continously when door is opened only stopping when door is closed or unit turned off.

How to turn off when i am entering the flat?

There's a switch on the side of the alarm unit to switch between chime/alarm/off. Turn it to the off position but remember to set it to alarm when you go out.

Should the green indicator light be on or does it only come on when the batteries are low?

Both just check on your batteries as the light is on for both
