The sensor lights are not turning on when I plug it into the Wii . Do I need to do something else to turn it on?

I do not see lights on my sensor so not sure I understand, the bar does not light up, are you seeing lights on back of console? If concerned hook up and ensure fresh batteries in remote the load/put in a game and test
