I'm impressed. Feels and looks good. I prefer Demascus over all others though. I'm glad I bought it before it went out of stockI need to update this review. It is 2/9/17, and I should have waited to post my opinion. Last week, I decided to cut down kudzu vines next to my house. I would guess the base of it 2-21/2 inches in diameter. This machete held up for about 30 min. It broke in half while hacking at the plant during its first time of use. I don't know much about Demarcus. I do know it's high in carbon, and that it's hammered, layered over, and hammered again and again etc. I looked at the center of blade on both pieces, and it was layered throughout. But it was not a tight looking layered machete. It looked like small popcorn like styrofoam- ish. I will post a pic in a few days. I didn't think about it til now, but I wouldn't recommend this at all if planning to use it. It seems to me that it was not hammered long enough to make it strong and durable. It was very sharp. Just not durable at all when used for hacking at brush, specifically kudzu. Here are pics
