I have some pre built hp desktop i upgraded so how do i tell if this adapter will work with my pc?

This is kind of a strange question.... You need to look at the available connections on your power supply and the connection from your power supply to the motherboard. I used this for a pre-built Dell PC that I upgraded the power supply on. The motherboard did not have the standard 24-pin connector, it had a proprietary Dell 8-pin connection. This adapter worked perfectly for that. Hope this helps.

Will this work for a dell poweredge t20 server? the motherboard’s dell part number is vd5hy. it is also marked with cn-0vd5hy-72200-56a-01ms-a07.
