25mm 100% Pure Mulberry Silk Pillowcase (White Queen)

I gave my grandson and his wife a set of these silk pillowcases. I had previously purchased one for myself. We all love the feel, look, and easy care. They are elegant and well-made. There is a fold-over closing rather than a zipper which is much nicer and will not be problematic later on. Well worth the cost for this lovely product.

This is my second silk pillowcase purchase, as I want to rotate pillowcases when one is being soaked and later hand-washed (details below). My first purchase was a 22 momme silk pillowcase from another reputable company and seller on Amazon, Colorado Home Co. I inquired with Fishers Finery customer service on Amazon and they quickly responded with a friendly reply. This, my second silk pillowcase purchase on Amazon, was the 25 momme, white (undyed), pillowcase from Fishers Finery. This product is truly authentic, 100% silk. The quality and softness are superb. The packaging for this item is a very pleasant, big & stiff square, dark blue colored paperboard. If you buy their 30 momme silk pillowcase it comes in an even nicer packaging, a dark black, cardboard box with their company signature on top. Note, generally speaking, the nicer the packaging, the more you pay for the silk pillowcase product-- in fact, it can increase the price of the product by $15 to $20 approximately when you purchase a silk pillowcase that comes in a nice gift box. TIP on HOW TO WASH this item: Have a couple of silk pillowcases so you can rotate them when one is being washed as I describe here: a. Do not machine wash or machine dry. b. If there are any stains, use Ecover Stain Remover liquid (6.8 oz), available on Amazon and at grocery stores like Natural Grocers. Simply thoroughly spot dab the Ecover liquid stain remover on all stains. I had some blood stains on my other silk pillowcase (from Colorado Home Co.) due to a scab that broke on my head. I was worried the blood stain would not come out. I soaked the Ecover liquid stain remover on the pillowcase for 24hrs. c. Then, fill a bucket full of cool to warm water and a liquid detergent for delicate items (made for wool or silk). Not marketed as a detergent in this case, but I used Soapnut shampoo (unscented) soap that I purchased from an Amazon seller called Nature Sustained. Any Soapnut shampoo, body wash, or detergent (all are sold online or in some health food stores), are basically all the same and can be interchanged to cleanse your body, hair, or fabric (clothing or bedding). 100% pure Soapnut shampoo/liquid soap is very gentle but effective, as well as chemical free and very environmentally friendly. For some reason, as of 10/2022, it is very hard to find 100% pure Soapnut shampoo/soap (containing only Soapnut liquid and natural preservative) on Amazon or online. d. I then placed the silk pillowcase in the bucket of water, and I gently hand washed for about a minute. Then I let it soak for 24 hours. After 24 hours, I hand washed again for about a minute. Then I emptied the bucket of water and filled with clean water and rinsed the pillowcase in this manner. I then hung the silk pillowcase to dry over a wooden rack. You may also lay it flat to dry on a towel on a counter. The result? All the blood stains came out and there were no wrinkles (of course pillowcase was not as flat looking as when new). RE: Temperature Regulation-- I purchased this item as my body runs hot and thus, I also sleep hot. So, I needed a temperature regulating fabric in order to sleep better. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase does not cure all one's sleeping hot woes. However, it certainly was palpable in that the silk pillowcase did indeed reduce warmth. I cannot afford silk sheets at the moment, but having at least a silk pillowcase is the most important in order to reduce heat in the head area. A much less expensive (less than half the price), but very effective alternative to silk sheets, in order to sleep cooler, is 100% Egyptian Cotton sheets. So, I purchased this on Amazon: "Pure Parima Luxury 100% CEA Certified Egyptian Cotton Sheet Bed Set | Extra-Long Staple | Cool, Breathable, Ultra Comfort | Double Hem-Stitched | Flat, Fitted, and 2 Pillow Cases". These sheets did the trick and I sleep cooler. Another alternative is "Everhome Egyptian Cotton 700-Thread-Count sheet" available at your local and online bed and bath store. I am very pleased with this purchase and I can't wait to buy another 100% pure silk pillowcase from Fishers Finery. This item is "Practical Perry" approved. ; )

I love these pure Mulberry Silk pillowcases! Personally, I think these are better than Blissy. I have had the Moonless Night color for a while now and I also just bought the Light Green pillowcases. I have seen pictures of holes and tears in pictures for the reviews. You cannot be lazy with these silk pillowcases. I am not trying to sound disrespectful to others, but I want to be truthful. I have had one set of my Fishers pillowcases for about a year and a half, and they feel like they did when I first bought them. You cannot expect to put these delicate pillowcases in the washing machine and have them last. I wash my pillowcases once a week and I hand wash them in a basin with a little bit of woollite and cool water. I let them soak for about five minutes and then I swish them around and push the sudzy water through them for a few minutes. Then I fill up the basin and rinse them thoroughly 2X and hang to air dry. The several minutes that I take to hand wash these, is a small price to pay for lasting softness. They are not cheap, so make them last! Buy them and enjoy.

I have always wanted a silk pillowcase because I have heard of the many wonderful benefits of silk (less sleep creases/wrinkles, better for skin, hairstyles etc). After doing my research I decided I would only buy 25 momme silk pillowcase. I bought this one and one from Celestial silk, as I wanted to have a comparison (I also wanted two - for when one's in the wash). The both come in at the same price point. Given that in my research I came across some silk pillowcases up to $80, I thought this was a reasonable price for a high momme count (most of the cheaper ones were 19 momme or less). I pay more for a jar of face cream and a pillowcase lasts longer, so I think it's a very worthwhile investment. The Fishers Finery is slightly heavier, thicker material (we're talking about silk here, so it's a small difference) and I liked the feeling that it is strong and not flimsy. DEFINITELY comfortable to sleep on, I don't think I can go back to cotton pillowcases again. I will travel with these. This Fishers Finery silk pillowcase is not as satiny as the Celestial Silk, so not as "slippery" to sleep on. I don't mind, it's still very soft and the perfect temperature for my face/head. It may soften up more as it gets washed again and again, so I am curious to see which one wears better. I'm very happy with this purchase and am choosing this one as the one I travel with as it seems just a little bit more durable. I would give the Celestial Silk one half a star more though, just because it feels a little more silky. I put them through the handwash cycle on my washing machine and then give them a quick iron (inside out. Makes the silk feel more silky). It's about ten minutes more effort (5 mins for a separate wash, 5 mins to iron) but I personally think it's worth the energy because it feels just SO good to put my head on such a soft silk at night :)

I love this pillowcase! It works great for my hair and is gentle on my skin. I love that it has a panel that flips over the pillow on the inside so you don’t see the pillow itself. Mine looks a little more creamy than white after a couple of washes, but if you wanted to bleach it I am sure you could. Just don’t want bleach residue on my face.

This Fishers Finery 25mm silk pillow case is perfect. The quality, comfort and coolness is the best. I love it doesn’t have a zipper closure but instead it has the fold over that keeps the pillow secure in the pillow case. I tried less expensive silk pillow cases before I got this one and they don’t compare. Based on the instructions provided, I have washed mine in the zip bag provided on delicate and then took it out of the bag and dried it in my dryer for 10 minutes on delicate as well. I then hang it to finish drying. I do press it on very low heat and it looks absolutely beautiful. I liked it so much, I went back and purchased a second one so I would have two just in case one needs to be in the wash. You will not be disappointed in this pillowcase.

I would give the actual product 5 stars, but my review is based on my full interface with the seller in the purchase process. Based on two nights of use having only very recently purchased the product, the product seem well-made, comfortable with a range of colors available. HOWEVER, I was surprised to receive only one pillowcase. I have never purchased a single pillowcase. I was not aware I was only purchasing one pillowcase. I went back to the website and found one alternative in the ordering process to purchase two pillowcases but I could find no direct statement upfront and clear that I was only purchasing one pillowcase, now with a second on order. I realize I somehow bear some responsibility for this but I believe the seller could have made much clearer I was purchasing only one pillowcase.
