I have been very happy with the Invisibrake. We have traveled about 1000 miles since install and it has worked well. Installation is not for the non-handyman and you should have a pretty good knowledge of your auto. I would also recommend that once you have decided were you want to install the brake in your auto disassemble everything in the car that needs to be removed than do a complete run through of the installation instructions and make sure everything will fit where you though it would and that it can be secured were you want it secured. The reason I recommend this is I thought I had completed the installation of the brake system cleaned up and secured my wire runs and sealed the grommet in the firewall when I focused on the brake light that gets installed in your RV. Well that wire has to run through the fire wall of your auto and connect to the cold side of your brake switch and that wire should have been run through the fire wall with all the other wires. So after kicking myself its back under the pick-up you get the picture.Once the brake installation was complete I had my wife drive the RV with Pick-up in tow around the local high school parking lot. I was in the pick-up to confirm the brake operation and to adjust the pressure.The main reason I chose the Invisibrake is because of the permanent installation. Should something happen to me while camping and my wife needs to move the RV and tow she will not need to struggle with the brake, just plug the 7 pin to 6 pin connector and break away switch and the brake system is ready.This system will also trickle charge your tow battery. I have seen friends arrive at camp grounds and their tow has a dead battery caused by the brake they choose.One thing I have found since the installation is that when I use the exhaust brake on the RV it must turn on the RV brake lights because the Invivibrake activates which helps slow us down when approaching red lights or in downhill situations. The Invisibrake does shut down after 20 seconds so you will need to get the exhaust brake to deactivate in order to get the Invisibrake to activate again. Could be an issue on long downhill runs.One issue I had and almost made me rate the Invisibrake at 4 stars was at least 6 different parts were missing from the parts bag. Both vacuum T's were missing and this delayed the installation. I first contacted Roadmaster since this over site was theirs. Once they found that I had used Amazon they would not help me. Now some of you may agree with this but I think when your name is on a 900 dollar product and a customer receives a less than perfect product, especially because you sell these parts separately on your web page, it would have been very simple for you to take my list and provide those products. Instead I had to go to Amazon and ask for a return authorization and have them send me another Invisibrake so I could pillage the parts I needed.So Roadmaster gets 3 starsThe Invisibrake gets 5 starsAmazon gets 5 stars

Haven't gone on a trip yet but early test results are great. Sure this unit is a little more complex to install but once it's done the clean look is well worth it. We bought the Blue Ox Patriot removable system first, that was a waste of money for us. Our Jeep Liberty's floorboard just didn't have a sweet spot it could work correctly in. At best I got 15 or 20 miles down the road before going into alarm no matter what we try so, that just didn't work out.The Invisibrake install is as clean and hidden as they say it is. I shoved the main unit under the drivers seat and the actuator under the drivers side floorboard plastic cover. The hardest part of the install was aligning the brake pedal pulley. After the 3rd try though it worked perfectly. There's a fantastic video on youtube that shows you exactly how to install this on a Jeep Liberty. I had a several year newer model Liberty than the one in the video but, it didn't seem to matter.Luckily I had already installed the after market tail light harness so all I had to do was tap into it's wires going to the main unit and it was basically done. I would highly recommend that aftermarket light kit, it's the one you drill new lights into your existing brake light housings and you don't utilize your towed vehicle's wiring at all.I finished the towed vehicle portion of the install in 3 hours, I haven't gotten the motor home portion completed yet, apparently the wiring for the motor home is not required for this system to work. I hooked the Liberty up to my work truck for a trial run and the brakes worked exactly as they should even without the indicators for the MH being connected.This really is as simple as connecting your towed vehicle's hitch up to your MH, plugging in the trailer wiring and off you go. Once you get the brake setting dialed in like you need it I can't imagine having to ever think about this unit again.Their claim that this system charges your towed vehicles battery is beyond my comprehension. Where does it get this mystery electricity to keep the toad's battery charged? At no point does this system connect to the towing vehicles electricity so I can't think of how it comes up with the power to charge it's own battery. I have a solar charger I stick in the Toad's window and maybe that will help keep it's battery charged on long trips. I just don't buy their claim that this unit won't drain your towed vehicle's battery.In summary, it was an expensive lesson learned but this is the system I should have purchased to begin with. The easy way out rarely ever works.

Haven't taken the Toad out yet other than around a few blocks but seems ok.Lay out all of the small parts before starting, I missed a few things that caused me some frustration and having to dig back under the floor carpet a few times.The unit is designed to suck vacuum to engage the vehicles brake booster to increase the braking power, But. It seems to suck in the on the vac side and use that air to operate then brake cable's pulling cylinder. It works with but has a problem. It takes a lot less air to move the cylinder than it needs to suck for the booster. So in my case the booster doesn't help give more braking. 2005 PT Cruzier

I love this thing! I tow an F-150 behind my RV. I tried everything before spending the dollars to get the Invisibrake. I tried two different brake buddies. The brake buddy "box" was an issue for me, because it wasn't really proportional. The "box" only kicked in if there was a hard brake, but wouldn't do any proportional braking if you were simply going down a hill. The invisibrake is reasonably easy to put in, if you have even a small amount of mechanical know-how. If you know what a VOM is and how to operate it, then you probably have enough knowledge. But, you can always have it installed by a pro. Take your time and do the install over a day or two -- be slow and meticulous. Be sure and get the optional pulley bracket kit, Item #8700-PBC. Don't go cutting holes in your carpet, just put the pulley bracket over the carpet and screw it down. You'll want to invest in a right-angle attachment for your electric drill -- simply makes life easier. I'm not a pro mechanic -- just a simple farm boy, so don't sue if you can't do it. We bought this as a " returned unused" product. And yes all the parts were there undamaged and we were able to install it and save a little money on the price. The product is considered the best way to tow a vehicle behind your RV. Its a much easier to connect to an RV than the air controlled system that you need to remove from the vehicle to drive it again, then reinstall it every time you want to tow it. The invisibrake system stays in your tow vehicle and does NOT need to be removed everytime you want to drive the vehicle. Cost more than the air systems but is way more convenient for an older person to connect and go!

Installed this on a2006 Trailblazer. It works great, but installation was a bit tricky.

We used this product on a different car for many years and loved it. It said it was compatible with the Ford Escape but did not say it was not compatible with the Hybrid.

Saves at least an hour of time in hooking up, compared to another brake system I owned- love it - plug in & go.

It is very complalicated to fit take full 10 hours , has to be fit by qualified Auto electritions , also we find faulty regulator and air valve , it is very important do not have any circuit braker protections if you wired wrong you will blow up Circuit board without any doubt that will cost you more tjhan brake cost, , also will not work with turbo charged cars i would not recomended
