All I Want for Christmas Is a Vampire (Love at Stake, Book 5)

I love the romance that Ian and Toni shared. The book shows me when love is strongest to gather then apart.

This book had a funny premise so I thought I would try it from the regular angst riddled regular vampires. I was so excited that I read it in six hours. I love Shanna and Roman. It was funny and really interesting. The story (if you can believe a romance novel has one) expands through the remainder of the series. I love how all the characters show up in future books so you can always keep up with this original couple. I also liked how the main vampire has a huge support network. The vampires in this series are pretty traditional of modern vamp storytelling (stake through the heart turns to dust, sleeps during the day, drinks blood and burns in sunlight) so that was a little disappointing. I was looking for a 24/7 vamp that was invincible like the legendary vamps. Either way I wasn't disappointed in the story even though it was predictable. I recommended it to my friends and we're all hooked.

If your a fan of vampire romances then its safe to say you've thought about what it would be like to be immortal. Its not a big leap to then assume you've considered the perfect age to be for eternity. I have and one thing that I imagine would suck (no pun intended)would be to be too old, an age which is subjective but still... I've never ever thought about how the opposite - being too young forever - would be awful. Kerrilyn Sparks brilliantly worked this into a story that made me sympathize with the hero from the start, even though he hadn't been tortured for years. I was ecstatic that he wasn't overidden with guilt over a really stupid hang-up (his hang-up is justified). Is there really anyway a vampire who looks like he's fifteen can get a decent meal without a little bit of pleasurable mind mojo? Keep reading but beware that some of the plot is revealed and I may have gotten carried away. Towards the begining of ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS I thought this book was going to be that really rare book that just makes you giddy with happiness after you finish. Yes, it was rife with cliches. Good vampires verses bad vampires with the ignorant humans as casualties in the middle. But for a while it was like Sparks was the first to have written such a plot. Ian, the hero, is a 400 + year old vampire who was stuck at the age of 15 for all that time (until very recently). This is something almost anyone would complain about but not Ian. Anyways, with some powerful help from genius Roman (the hero from the first Love at Stake book) he has managed to age 12 years in 12 days. And boy, did he become a handsome man. Of course, Ian doesn't know how delicious he is because in his world vampires cannot see their own reflections. Moving on, Ian isn't your average commitment-phobic hunk; he is looking for a long-lasting and fairytale love. Fortunately, he still has some faults and doesn't come off too unrealistic Prince Charmingly. Toni is your average lonely hero with a mission. I don't think the idea that love exists has even registered in her head before. For the mortal day guard of three very high-profile vampires, Toni's job seems to be a little dull and her infamous fighting skills are only impied... until the end. But from the begining she plans to betray the good vamps. Calm down, I don't mean she's gonna hand them over like helpless babes to the evil vamps. Only that she is going to use her position to find proof that vampires do exist and her friend in the mental institution isn't crazy. Overall it was a nice book. Not a reread-it-3-times kind of book but it will leave me with nice memories. The "I am so lucky to have found this book" faded but even cynical me strongly liked it.

I love it sooooo much. Ian is such a doll. I admire the fact that he didn't want to deceive a woman about who he was. He and Toni were just adorable. I could read this one again and again 💖

Toni is the newest victim of the Malcontents and the newest Day Guard for the Good Vampires. Then she runs into the hot vampire Ian and boy is he hot in his kilt. Toni knows she has a plan, she has to get Sabrina out of the psych ward and to prove vampires exist. She can't tell Ian what is going on and Ian knows she is hiding something. With the war with the Malcontents heating up can Ian convince Toni that there is more than humans and vampires to consider and that she must follow her heart? Great read and I loved Ian and Toni! Another hit from Kerrelyn Sparks in the Love at Stake Series.

Kerrelyn makes me laugh! I love the way she writes with her Vampires having a sense of humour, it makes the stories a lot more fun to read, why be serious all the time? Reading her books is like watching a movie play out in your head. With Roman and Shannas' story line, Laszlo reminds mean of a clumsy Don Knotts vampire style, Laszlo and the life size doll Vanna, in the trunk of the car! Laszlo playing with his buttons till they all fall off, Roman and his broken fang! OMG, I was reading the beginning of 'How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire' in bed and laughed so hard I almost fell out! Only one complaint, I stay up to late reading these books on my Kindle cause 'I canna put them down' LOL. Already 'Christmas' (forgive the short-cut) is making me laugh.

I have read many of her books and loved every one. The vamps are sexy and funny. The ladies are smart, strong and funny. I can't wait for Dr. Fang to find his mate. With the invention of synthetic blood, they no longer need to bite to survive. They need to keep their secrets while still helping humans and fighting the malcontents. These books are great fun!

Toni becomes a new daytime guard for the Romatech vampires after killing malcontents in Central Park, who have left her best friend Sabrina in a mental health institution. Ian, nearly 500 but in the body of fifteen year old, takes the stay awake drug to age 12 years in 12 days so he can find a vamp true love at last, but it's mortal Toni on his mind. Set at Christmas this is romantic, funny, full of danger and lots of new characters introduced including some shifters. Love this

Most hilarious book I've read in a long time. Highly recommended. Ms. Sparks is now 2nd on my favorite author list right after Jim Butcher. Why no audiobooks???

The characters in this book are well written, likeable and you want it work out. It's a fun read with plenty of humour as well and themes that may resonant with some readers, while trigger warning may not be necessary, there's lots of mentions of blood. It was an easy read, and despite being 300+ pages I read it quickly due to how unputtadownable it was. HEA

Er wünscht sich nichts mehr auf der Welt, als ebenso die große Liebe zu finden, wie sie Roman, Jean-Luc und Angus schon gefunden haben. Durch eine Kontaktanzeige hofft er die richtige Vampirfrau zu treffen. Was er aber antrifft, ist eine sterbliche Leibwächterin (Toni) in Romans Stadthaus, die augenscheinlich eingebrochen ist. Er will zwar keine Sterbliche kann sich aber die gegenseite Faszination nicht erklären. Toni hat mit Vampiren so ihre Probleme, weil sie von den Malcontens angegriffen wurde. Toni und Ian landen auf einer Achterbahn der Gefühle. Toni hasst die Vamps eigentlich - beschützt sie aber tags über. Ian will eine Vampfrau - verliebt sich aber immer mehr in Toni. Hinzu kommt der immer währende Kampf mit den bösen Vamps, die Ians Droge haben wollen, um die Guten am Tag zu vernichten. Diese Geschichte ist wie schon die anderen aus dieser Reihe mit unglaublich viel Gefühl geschrieben. Man möchte mit Toni weinen, als sie bei einer Predigt emotional zusammen bricht und gleichzeitig hat die Story super viel Humor. Erwähnte ich schon, dass sie auch sexy ist? Spitzenklasse!!

Loved this book as well Kerrilyn Sparks is a great Author should read the entire series.
