Shrinky Dinks Creative Pack 10 Sheets Crystal Clear Kids Art and Craft Activity

I have bought these many times in the past. I put them thru my inkjet printer and wait a few minutes for them to dry and the best tool I have found that works to shrink them is a shrink wrap gun. I purchased a 1 X ECG HG-300D Mini Heat Gun on Amazon NTE HG-300D Mini Heat Gun for $20. an embosser heat gun works well too. It helps to use a popsicle stick to hold it down in place so it lays down smooth. I didn't like using an oven because you really don't have any control over how it bakes and when to stop unless you have a window in your oven. I used a hole punch before baking and it makes a super awesome charm for key rings. .Nice gift giving & personal touch if you (for example) use a photo of a person or their pet. Fun activities for kids too. Wish there were more sheets in a package. Just ordered 3 more packages. Will add photos when I upload my charm photos. Bought Grafix 50 sheet but hard to tell which side to print on and ink ran and never dried. Probably bought the wrong one for printers.. Hope this helps..

So cool! I bought this for my boys for Christmas so they could make their own keychains for their backpacks. I tested it out by making Chewie in the picture (forgot the hole for the keychain). Reading the reviews made it really easy! The instructions say to bake 1-3 minutes but mine was still curled up at that point. Thankfully I had read a review that said to leave it in the oven until it flattens out. The instructions also say to leave it 30 seconds after it flattens. Here’s how I made mine: 1. Print out a picture to trace. (This one was centered on about 1/4 of a page). 2. Trace on the smooth side with a Sharpie. 3. Color on the rough side with markers or colored pencils. (The directions say not to use crayons.) 4. I probably should have outlined on the rough side with Sharpie again because the outline didn’t show up on the back side. 5. Trim the edges. (Small scissors would be helpful.) 5. Use a hole punch if you want a hole. (It will shrink to the correct size.) 6. Place the rough, colored side up on parchment paper on a baking sheet. 7. Put it in the preheated oven and watch it for 2-5 minutes. You’ll see it curl up and then flatten out. 8. Take it out of the oven and remove it from the baking sheet. All set! Mine was only shiny on one side. Not sure if that’s normal or not. So fun— can’t wait for my boys to try this!

This is my first time using this kind of paper. I like to do crafts with my 4 year old and saving hands prints is one of our favorites. These are fun pages to do hand prints on. I used acrylic paint on the ones we did and it came out nice. When you put these in the oven they will start to curl up but if you leave them a couple minutes longer they go flat. You do have a couple seconds after removing them from the oven to flatten them. Once dry, they're pretty cute. I made Keychains of my son's hand prints. These are fun to craft with. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a fun project to do with kids or to have a keepsake.

I'm a teacher and had my kids make shrinky dink keychains for Father's Day. They turned out AMAZING! **One SUPER IMPORTANT TIP: the package says that it only takes like 2-3 minutes to shrink all the way... I timed the shrinking and at 2 minutes the shrinky dink paper was curling up and looking like it was completely ruined so I panicked and tried various ways to flatten them- DON'T DO THAT! Just trust and leave them in there for about 5-7 minutes and they will go from completely curled up to completely flat and gorgeous. If you take them out early all curled up, don't worry, just stick them back in and they fix themselves! I cut the shrinky dink paper into fourths and used a hole puncher to punch holes before baking and it was the perfect size. I also made some super cute customized cat keychains! My students and I used colored pencil for the pictures and then I spray painted theirs to seal. Put clear nail polish on top of mine and that works too. So easy and looks great!

There used to be a character in the game 'Candyland' called 'Plumpy,' which my extended family learned during a Family Game night after my brother shared some trivia about The Chocolate Swamp not being the original name of that area of the Candyland board. No one could remember what it used to be called, so we asked Alexa who shared that it used to be The Molasses Swamp. Alexa then elaborated, sharing that the character 'Plumpy' was unceremoniously removed from the game in 2002 due to the belief that he promoted an unhealthy lifestyle. Not one of us had remembered Plumpy from our childhoods but upon hearing this, several of the adults laughed so hard at the name that they fell out of their chairs. So, of course, I decided to make ornaments for my family for Christmas: everyone gets one Plumpy and one Candyland kid because we are an immature bunch who never forgets when something funny happens. Note #1 - I bought the 'frosted' shrinky dinks, and I really wish that I had bought the 'crystal clear' ones. That's because I traced the outline of the characters, but I could only do it while holding everything up against a window on a very sunny day (otherwise, you can't see what you're trying to trace). If I had a light board, that would have made my life much easier. So: buy the crystal clear ones if you're tracing something! Note #2 - These shrink, alright. To be exact: they get about one-third smaller. The photos are the before & after, and in both pictures the characters are lying on a standard-size greeting card envelope. The colors really pop, too, after they've been shrunk. Note #3 - If you need a hole (say, for threading some fishing wire to make an ornament) then be sure to use an actual hole puncher and punch that hole BEFORE you bake/shrink these. As you can see from the photos, I botched the 'hole punch' part because I used kitchen knife. I had left space at the 'hand' area of the characters for a small hole, but all I did was slice/split the material. I thought that I could instead punch them after they've been shrunken/baked. I cannot - they're way too thick now. So now they're very tiny bookmarks.

These are great. My photo shows what I made with one of the ten sheets, my "test runs" if you will. Toaster oven worked best for me. Also, for coloring, posca pens give the best black and work great in general. Prisma color colored pencils worked great too (pink heart and owl). Sharpie is okay but comes out transparent (love, top left). I glazed a couple with mod podge and nail polish top coat. I like the top coat better so far. I made a swatch test out of my first and also used scraps for testing things. I suggest you do the same if it is your first time with shrinky dinks. Lastly, they will curl up and look like they are getting ruined, just stick it out, they will flatten. Don't pull them out of the oven too soon and if you do, put them back. If they aren't completely flat, a spatula works good but work quickly because they cool fast.

Just got these yesterday and was planning to do handprints/footprints for keychains (I’ve been seeing a video online of that kraft!). So I figured this would make good keepsakes and Christmas gifts for the grandparents. I used both a stamp pad and acrylic paint. I like the look of the stamp better but only had black, so I will get getting another stamp pad and using that, but the paint looks neat too! Use the frosted side to do the coloring/stamping. I used colored pencils as well to write names and the date. We used our toaster over set at 325* and it worked perfectly. They shrunk within 30 seconds. You have to watch them. I’m not sure what happens if they’re left too long but it didn’t take long for mine to be down to size. Hole punch is the perfect size for a keychain ring as well! Definitely recommend and they seem to be the cheaper option on amazon! Sheets are all plain, no designs like some others I saw.

What can I say about these, they are just as fun as an adult as when you were an 80's kid ( or wanted to be one) These I use to make jewelry in the toaster oven. I use colored pencils or sharpies to color. I also use fancy scrapbook scissors to cut out my designs. The chart that comes with this is accurate for size comparison as to how big your piece will be after shrinking. Item will be a hard plastic and color doesn't come off or chip. No need to seal. Made Disney's Frozen zipper pulls for the kids and a hello kitty necklace for the little princess and she love it. All the kids at school want an original form me. Just remember to punch your hole first and don't toss those small scraps. You can always use them for something. I make this in my toaster oven. I preheat for 3 minutes to 325. Then I put them in on the toaster oven tray covered in clean, flattened aluminum foil. I like this better then putting on a paper bag like suggested, but that's just me. They shrink in 10 sec to 1 minute depending on how big your piece is. Once removed with an oven glove, I let them cool on the tray for 2 minutes. They "snap" off meaning they just unstick from the foil. If you try to move before then USE CAUTION> Never ever let a child do this, they will get burned. If you want to make a slightly bended creation or ring, etc.. you have only 10 second to mold it and form it. It will be hot so practice makes perfect. Play with a few scraps to see how it forms and cools if you are looking to do something wearable.
