Yes, this system can be used for either in-ground or above-ground pools. These systems are designed to connect to sold PVC plumbing pipe. If the pool has the smaller flex hose type plumbing you will have to adapt it to fit the solid PVC type connections used in these kits. 912 sq ft is a huge pool and will require a large system to extend your swim season. Water volume is another factor we can look at, but based on the surface area I would probably recommend anywhere from 550-700 sq ft of solar panels. So it would be quite a large system. You can certainly start smaller, gauge results and add more panels later if better heating results are desired. We can also look at water volume and see how that affects the overall system size recommendation.
