Pretty paper, nice book, color, good directions. Everything you would need to make several of the designs. I purchased for middle school youth. We had a good time with the kit and everyone was able to complete at least one thing.

The book contains instructions quite easy to understand and follow. The high quality, double-sided paper is beautiful and a great choice for these projects. How special would some of these design be, such as the kimono, samurai helmet, and the "Realistic Butterfly," pasted on card stock and sent to family and friends? I got the idea from watching a program featuring artists and crafters around the country using their talents and skills in creating lovely projects. One of them made his own cards using the Yuzu Washi and Chiyogami paper designs. They were so beautiful and creative! Tuttle Publishing (the publisher of this kit) offers elegant origami paper, high quality, double-sided, Washi and Chiyogami designs (6" square) at $12.99 for 500 sheets each. They offer these in the 4" square as well. They also offer a host of other paper designs and sizes. Hard to beat!

We have about 80 kids and about half of them are learning to do origami right now. These have been so helpful to them! They love the colors and how easy it is to fold. The paper seems to last a long time, and all the books are perfect for helping them to learn. I think that this was a great find, and a great price!

This is a great book for people who are just beginning origami. There are some that are definitely difficult but after going through the first 15, you've gotten better and might be ready for the last 5. The pieces of paper are very pretty, there is array of patterns, some have flowers and some do not which is nice since it's a gift for my 12 year old son. He's saving the flower paper to make origami gifts for me and lady family members. I like that the paper is stored in the book but it's not bound in the book, when we eventually get more paper, we can store it in the book again. The history of origami is fun for any history buffs out there. I highly recommend it.

There's a lot of information, but not enough explanation of the more complicated folds. The accompanying videos are helpful, but sometimes don't match the diagrams in the book, which is confusing. All in all, expect some frustration if you have no previous experience with origami.

I bought 3 of these for my girls for Christmas, ages 11 - 13. It was a HIT!!! They spent ALL DAY with the paper and books. I'm not sure if anyone ever put the DVD on to get better instructions on the more complicated projects, but it was great for them to unplug and focus on doing something away from electronics! I think it's a really fair value for the price and contents.
