Zuzu Luxe, Dual Powder Foundation D-17,.32 oz

My absolute favorite, go-to, everyday powder foundation! I used to use an expensive department store famous brand powder foundation, and tried several other brands too, but they all left my face to oily, didn't provide the right level of coverage (too light, too heavy, etc.), didn't come in the right color (I have very fair skin), and were too expensive. I found the Zuzu powder foundation and LOVED that it goes on smoothly, doesn't cake if you touch it up later in the day, gives a nice medium-weight coverage -- enough to even out your skin tone and hide any imperfections without looking too heavy and mask-like. You'll still look natural, only better. And it doesn't look shiny and turn orange after a couple of hours. The price is very reasonable and the product lasts a long time. I also love that I can order just a refill and reuse the compact part -- less expensive and keeps more trash out of the landfills too. This brand keeps it's products as "natural" as possible, and there's none of the ingredients in here that cause breakouts -- unlike most other brands. That's a big plus for me, since I'm allergic to many things, but not this. It's a keeper!

I would give this 6 stars if I could. Great coverage. Doesn't leave your skin oily or dry. Apply with a Kabuki brush or the applicator sponge (you don't get the sponge with the D4 refill, only with the compact). I've tried several vegan products (DeVita, Zuzu & Larenim are all high quality vegan brands) but this particular foundation by Zuzu is the outright winner. It feels so light on your skin, it's like you're not even wearing makeup. I tried to order the compact but it was sold out on Amazon. When I ordered the refill I was so impressed with the quality, I ended up ordering the D4 compact from Vegan Essentials. I have really fair/pale skin and this was the perfect shade. I really don't think you will be disappointed with this and it's cruelty free. I don't care how good a product is or may seem, if it's not cruelty-free, then I'll pass.

This brand had slipped my mind (after I think it was in a local health food store years ago) and when the brand I was using stopped selling their pressed powder for reformulation, it took me ages to rediscover this. It is a great foundation that blends very well with my skin -- after effortless application with a sponge puff. I only use it on the parts of my face that have dear little veins. My fashion photographer friend said it's perfect for me. (I do use some concealer first on the dear little capillaries.) Plus, customer service must be among the best in the world! And they can help you find the right shade. Hooray! Victory at last!

I usually find powder foundations to be way too light on coverage and needing frequent application. But I can use this one alone, without any other concealer, liquid foundation, or setting spray and it covers small blemishes well and stays on most of the day. Would definitely recommend. - If I'm at work I do not need to re-apply, but if I plan to wear longer than 9 hours I do re-apply. - Also, this smudges off easily - to some extent with a tissue but more so with water. Good for removal, but not so great if you cry, blow your nose more than once, get caught in a rain storm, etc. - One of the best parts about this is that it has safe ingredients and is cruelty-free. The Skin Deep Cosmetics Database (safety database through EWG) rates this very safe for your skin and body. - After more than 15 years of various liquid foundation + pressed powder combinations, I now use this exclusively. So happy to be done with liquid foundation. - I do break out occasionally but my skin is fairly smooth. For larger blemishes you may still want to use a concealer. Overall though after many years of acne-prone skin I have been impressed with this powder foundation. - It does not make me break out. Or leave me oily. It may be drying for some skin types, not sure. - If you use this every day and exclusively you will go through it quickly. Not sure how another reviewer would make this last a year. A month, tops.

I bought this product based on a recommendation from Lucky Vitamin. As they didn't have this exact color, I purchased it from Amazon. The product is very light, no scent, and goes on very evenly. Covers very well and after several minutes settles and melts into the skin as expected, leaving a natural, more even-toned appearance. I apply it before I head to work and that is all. Lasts all day. I have used both the sponge application it came with as well as a foundation brush and the foundation works well with both applications. I may try a shade lighter next time, but am pleased with the D-7 coverage and tone. Based on usage, not every day, I think this product may last up to a year. Obviously more heavy usage will go through the product more quickly, but I have found that a lighter touch creates a nicer finish with mineral foundation over heavy application.
