A celebration of Neem Karoli Baba, one of the most influential spiritual leaders of our time, the divine guru who inspired and led a generation of seekersโincluding Ram Dass, Daniel Goleman, and Larry Brilliantโon life-changing journeys that have ultimately transformed our world. In 1967, Baba Ram Dassโformer American Harvard professor Richard Alpertโleft India to share stories of his mysterious guru, Neem Karoli Baba, known as Maharajji. Introducing idealistic Western youth to the possibilities inherent in spiritual development, Ram Dass inspired a generation to turn on and tune in to a reality far different from the one they had known. From the spring of 1970 until Maharajji died on September 11, 1973, several hundred Westerners had his darshan (in Hinduism, the beholding of a deity, revered person, or sacred object). Those who saw him formed the Maharajji satsangโfellow travelers on the path. Love Everyone tells the stories of those who heard the siren call of the East and followed it to the foothills of the Himalayas. The ways they were called to make the journey, their experiences along the way, and their meeting with Maharajji form the core of this multicultural adventure in shifting consciousness. The contributors share their recollections of Maharajji and how his wisdom shaped their lives. All have attempted to follow Maharajjiโs basic teaching, his seemingly simple directives: Love everyone, feed everyone, and remember God. All have found their own way to be of service in the world and, in so doing, have collectively touched the hearts and souls of countless others. Review: An inspiring, absorbing and inspirational book. Not to be missed. - This is the most extraordinary book. Filled with love. So easy to read. The stories of all the amazing beings who were blessed to visit their Guru Neem Karoli Baba. The impact He had on their lives which made them give back to society in so many different ways. It is absorbing and beautifully written. I couldn't stop reading it and, in these intense times, it is a joy to feel uplifted! I felt I was there by osmosis without having to travel to India! Thank you Parvati Markus for putting this together so masterfully. And thanks to the phenomenal Ram Dass and all the devotees who not only had the courage to go to India but to return and to make the world a better place - to love, serve and remember! Thank you Ram Dass! Thank you all. Review: Neem Karoli Baba's Love is Alive Today - I strongly recommend this book to all spiritual seekers. Neem Karoli Baba has been my guru since the early seventies even though I never met him in his physical body. As I read through the stories in this book of the westerners that were there with him in India in the late sixties or early seventies, I had the feeling that I was there with them as part of the satsang. It was like I was actually present for all of the events that were described in the book. I was overcome by tremendous emotion as my heart was opened by the author's exquisite storytelling skills. Parvati Markus has given a gift to the world in the book "Love Everyone." Within these stories of the young people who traveled to India all those years ago to be in the presence of this great Indian saint, is a lesson that is true today for those of us who were not able to be there before he left his body. His darshan can be accessed today just as much as it was 45 years ago by the devotees whose stories are chronicled in "Love Everyone". Parvati Markus is a messenger of the love that is Neem Karoli Baba. It is a story of God's love for humanity. To be held by that love is all that we could ask for in life.

A Book For Those Who Honor and Believe in Spiritual Awakenings
I am grateful to Parvati Marcus for writing this brilliant book about the wonder and magic of Neem Karoli Baba and the Westerners who sat at his feet, drank in his simple and loving teaching of love everyone, serve everyone and remember God. The reason for my gratitude is that I missed the '60s and early '70s since I lived in Japan during that time of social upheaval, revolution and dramatic change in America. I heard from afar that young people were going to India to meditate and seek out their own special gurus but it's only now that those spiritual journeys have come to life in this special and illuminating book. I enjoyed reading the stories in their own words of the young people who learned to love not only Maharaja but each other thanks to his open heart. I was also moved by how they carried his teachings throughout their lives to make the world a better place. I recommend this book to anyone who honors and believes in the beauty of spiritual awakenings.

A Beautiful Tribute To One Of The Great Indian Saints
This is an incredible collection of stories told by those young men and women who traveled to India to find their guru... they found him!! And through them, the West was introduced to Maharaji. Great stories and photos give life to what it must have been like to be there in the 60s and early 70s. It was not all positive, however, as some of them contracted hepatitis and other diseases and experienced many challenges. However, they all came away with something unmistakeable.... the unconditional love of Maharaji. The book itself is delightful, even down to the front and back inner covers done as Maharaji's blanket. All in all, a poignant, wonderful read that inspires and makes me jealous that I wasn't there to be a part of it!

I grew up in the '60s, hearing stories about ...
I grew up in the '60s, hearing stories about the people who had gone to India. We didn't know what to make of them--crazy? drug-addled? blind followers? This book is filled with the real stories of who went, what they did, what they found--and I'm profoundly moved by it! Neem Karoli Baba's presence leaps off the pages, and I find myself to be a follower, too--even though he's no longer on this plane! Go figure. It's a book I couldn't put down. I'm grateful it's there.

Miracles of the heart
During the time period covered by this book, I was living off-grid on a small New Mexico homestead, a refugee from the city and the disturbing political events of the time. At Lama Foundation, a brand-new spiritual community founded by friends of Ram Dass, people we were close with helped to create the prototype for Be Here Now. Not only did we receive the original box set, including recordings, etc., but one of the artists, Dwarkanath, traveled with Ram Dass on his return journey to India, eventually mailing us a letter with a small black and white photo of Neem Karoli Baba. He told us, โIt is very difficult to think of anything when massaging Babajiโs feet, but I managed to think of you folks there!โ This photo resided for years atop my very first altar, a large rectangular rock in the exact center of our hand-built home, and the blessings started to flow. Not only have they continued, but so many incredibly intimate, funny and ultimately liberating experiences unattributable to anyone but this all-seeing Higher Guide have transpired along the way, through dreams and other means. In 1973, I was using a chalkboard to communicate, to help control the mind, a yogic practice I learned of from Haridas Baba, a servant of Babaji who had come to the west to teach. I remember attending a friend's birthday party at a home on the Rio Grande, and preparing to leave when a sudden torrential downpour occurred as we ran for cover to the truck. It was like nothing any of us had seen, and I remember all of us just laughing out loud at the extreme sudden change of weather, in which it was impossible to go anywhere, and which lasted a good five minutes. Afterwards, commenting to others who lived nearby about the freak storm, NO ONE else nearby had experienced it. Weeks later, we received a letter from India telling us that on that very day, Maharajji had passed, and then we felt we understood. . . others had similar experiences, so we were not alone. Our heart connection was the all-important linkup. Miracles abound when God is around!

You wish the book never ended but who cares - the essence keep lingering in the soul forever
This book elevates you exactly from where Miracles of Love left us. Each story keep opening your hearts more and more and you keep crying with each story. A perfect delicious treat for the heart. The stories are told so perfectly! As genuinely called 'The Greatest Saint of India and hence the greatest of world, Neem Karoli Baba shows us the highest potential of human being - the essence of highest human being - unconditional love. No complicated yoga or philosophy - just simple teaching of highest wisdom to realize the God. This book is a great account of Maharaji Ji devotee experiences with Maharaj Ji and how he remained with them forever. I finished in 24 hours. You wish the book never ended but who cares - the essence keep lingering in the soul forever.

Love Everyone, Serve Everyone, Read this book.
For everyone who loves Neem Karoli Baba, and for those that are yet to meet everyone's guru, this is a great introduction to him and the impact he had on many of the people who spent time in his darshan before he left the body.

Up there with Miracle of Love
Though shorter in length than Miracle of Love, it follows the same format as Miracle of Love. Except that here, we know whose account is being told - names are very much mentioned in this book. Some of the stories, especially of Krishna Priya, Sita, Balram Das, etc. are very memorable and show how Baba reciprocated the love of his western devotees. At some places, this book touches even deeper than Miracle of Love, at least for me. I was stunned to see the loving devotion of Balram Das towards Baba. Baba asked him to go back to America, so Balram Das did. But then, as soon as he touched down in America, he bought another ticket and came back to the ashram in India!! Thus, in a way he did fulfil Baba's command in letter. Baba had him return again, this time, granting him one last darshan. Imagine buying an expensive ticket not knowing what will happen, but taking a chance... and on that half-chance flying half way across the world!!! Imagine what must have been going in the mind of Balram Das as he was tearing himself away from Baba. I guess he must have been completely torn in the journey and must have resolved that the only thing which will bring him solace is if he headed back straight after he touched down. Imagine the state of that heart which had known Baba's love and now was being separated...

Unmissable
Gorgeous book for anyone who knows about Maharajji. A wonderful sort-of continuation of the stories in Miracle of Love, full of great stories from his Western devotees, and great pictures. Clearly a labour of love.
