I’m in love with this futon! The quality is amazing~ evenly stained wood, rich dark finish, thick firm-but-cushy mattress, gorgeous plush suede fabric. It came in two packages on the same day. I ordered it on a Saturday and it arrived the following Saturday. The mattress was tightly rolled up and I would advise having a large space when you cut it open because BAM it sort of explodes into its full size very quickly! The frame and all of the pieces were packaged extraordinarily well; each piece is color and number coded to match the instructions. There is a very clear, very concise instruction book included, and three packages of hardware. The hardware is sandwiched in pieces of cardboard with slots for each piece, and clearly marked which pieces of hardware you will need for each step. (I’ll advise you to cut the hardware packages open laying flat, if you cut them open any other way the pieces may tumble out of their slots and then you’ll have to match them up by the pictures in the booklet). The two main packages were pretty heavy and I had to get them up a flight of stairs to my apartment. I’m a very small 51 year old woman, 120 lbs and I’m not a particularly athletic girl, and I was able to do it without too much trouble by opening the frame package at the bottom of the stairs and carrying the pieces up one at a time instead of trying to muscle the entire box up the stairs. I was also able to assemble this completely by myself within 1.5 hours, with hardly any difficulty. When they say don’t tighten the bolts until the end of each step, they really mean it. It will save you some frustration if you follow that advice. The hardest part was getting the mattress onto the frame because it is very thick and bulky. Once I had it on, it settled into the frame nicely because the mattress is hinged. Be sure to read the tag that tells you which side of the mattress needs to sit on the frame. It is extremely comfortable to sit in. It feels very sturdy and came in perfect condition with no splits, cracks, scratches or flaws. There are no weird puckers or bad stitching in the fabric and even the zipper is very well placed and tidy looking. I highly doubt I will ever use it as a bed so I can’t vouch for that comfort or the complexities of moving it from couch to bed and vice versa. I love the muted colors and the way it fits into my decor. I highly recommend this futon for all these reasons. This is not a cheap sloppy dorm couch; it is quality and durable and beautiful in looks. Buy this, you will be very pleased and comfy.

I've only had this futon set for a few months, but I will share my overall experience thus far. Shipping was fairly quick-- received it sooner than expected. Upon delivery it came in two different boxes; one tall box for the mattress (rolled, very heavy) and a taller, bigger box for the assembly pieces. I was very surprised to have seen a mattress come with it, as I thought I was only paying for the frame-- which is a plus! I live alone and had no assistance putting the set together, even though the manual strongly advised two people to assemble. It took me (alone) about 4 hours to complete the majority of it, however, I had one piece that was very stubborn in terms of making it fit; it appeared to be the wrong base piece so that took an extra day to complete but nevertheless I made it work. I would advise to let the mattress air out a bit, as it came with a sour smell but wasn't hard to deodorize. Putting the mattress on the frame is very difficult, as it is quite heavy and with it being a foldable full size mattress made it more difficult to make it stay seated in place at first. It is easier to flip the futon from couch to bed than vice versa; as all you have to do is pull the bottom base up and out to make it flat. It likely takes two people to switch it from bed to couch, since the mattress is so heavy and flimsy; but if you do this often, this will contribute to the futon prematurely start falling apart, which is unfortunate. I did have to reach out to the vendor customer service about the piece that didn't seem to fit and they were very responsive, respectful, helpful and understanding. Very knowledgeable about the product and sent videos with time stamps on assembling certain pieces. They sent me the piece that I ended up no longer needing via FedEx, so I returned to sender (my sincerest apologies) as I had bent a piece in order to make it fit successfully. I use a mattress topper from my previous bed to make it extra cozy, but the mattress is comfortable with or without it and I sleep pretty well for it being a futon. I'm very surprised at how I don't wake up in pain, as futons have been known for being uncomfortable. The suede is quite nice as well. After having the product a few months in, I did start to see some of the frame falling out of place. The left side that is holding the bottom base by three tiny wooden pieces are detaching from each other. I'm not sure if I can use wood glue in order to keep these pieces together, however, I will have to eventually reach out to customer service once again to find the best solution. Looks beautiful in my NYC shoebox apartment. I only wish that it were more sturdy. I will be moving soon and hope I wont have damage issues with transporting the set. Overall decent product.

I utilized the step-by-step video on Amazon's listing of this futon to guide me through an easy installation. Fully-assembled, it's very sturdy and comfortable. Sturdy spring mattress. Three settings (upright, lounge, and bed). Be advised, the boxes are heavy. That's a good indication of a quality item - lots of mass to keep it sturdy and strong - but you will probably want a helping hand when taking the boxes inside (2 boxes - 1 for the frame, 1 for the mattress). I took everything inside and assembled it myself, but I'm a big burly weightlifter. The average guy is going to struggle with the weight of the packages, and handling the heavy mattress once it's unwrapped and expanded inside your house. The assembly hardware is designed so that you won't strip any screws into the wood. Nope. The high-stress points in the frame are secured with metal-into-metal fasteners. As someone who's been frustrated with "assembly required" items with screw holes that strip too easily, I was very happy with this. I highly recommend this futon. High-quality, heavy, sturdy, elegant, and comfortable.
