Great alternative to drilling!
I have a 1976 Takamine "lawsuit" acoustic guitar. It sounds great, but its value is mostly sentimental to me, so I don't want to drill it. The Fishman Humbucker is a great alternative. Really nice sound, and I found it to be perfectly loud enough through a Bose S1 Pro. Super easy to install and I don't have any issues with the cord hanging out of the soundhole. I would definitely recommend it for these reasons. Price is right too.

Sounds great! Easy semi-permanent installation!
I’ve never been a fan of acoustic pickups but I feel like humbucker style pickups do the best job of sounding great. I needed something fast for a live performance so I picked this up after watching video reviews. Very simple, just plugged it into a DI box. Slips into the soundhole without having to loosen the strings, which was important because I own two acoustic guitars that have no built in electronics. They are vintage guitars so I didn’t want to permanently attach anything either, this works great for what I wanted.

With Boss ME-70 and Fender Amp
Very happy with it. It arrived quickly and installs and uninstalls easily. I purchase it for experimentation in the studio. My Yamaha DW-5 6 string comes out in the morning, gets played on and off all day in various rooms of the house, and gets put away at night. I realized that even though the pickup goes on and off quickly, I just didn't want to deal with it regularly. And without plugging in, it does detract from the sound, not to mention the wire. Then I remembered my $29 experimental / luthier practice guitar (Huntington) that mostly just collected dust. Now it's my favorite new toy. With the Neo D Humbucker played through my Boss ME-70 and Fender amp, it sounds fantastic (of course all my guitars do thanks to the ME-70). What sounded like a $29 guitar now has it's own unique character and great sound with lots of options for self-expression. A tough guitar to play, but improves my playing and makes playing the electrics and 12 string feel easy. Without the ME-70, the pickup simply takes the sound of the guitar and makes it louder and somewhat changes the sound. It sounds good, it's a great pickup, but by itself not what I needed in the studio. With the effects pedal, I now have another large set of virtual guitars. I'll be interested to see what it does with the 12 string.

Pros Easy installation Long Cable Sound is warm 'Inexpensive' Durable Cons ...
To start with, I'm left handed and my guitar is as well. My on-board pre-amp failed within 4-5 years of purchasing my guitar (thanks Ibanez-I've read several complaints about the premature failure of your AEQ-SST pre-amp) and the cost of replacement almost equaled the original cost of the guitar. No pick-ups within my price range specified left or right, so I was hoping there would be no difference in how this sounds if installed right side up on a left or right handed guitar. Turns out, there is a little difference, but not so much that I'd give this a negative review . If this is installed in a standard way (placed closer to the headstock side of the sound hole) on a left handed guitar, you get more 'twang' on the G, B & high E strings and less volume of the low E, A and D - not favorable for me in terms of sound. If this is installed upside down on a left handed guitar, then the sound seems much more balanced and warm as described in most of the reviews here. The only problem is that the angled ends are designed for installation on a right handed guitar, so I've installed this further down the sound hole, towards the bridge, upside down. Gets in the way a bit, but a fair compromise for the price. Consider this carefully if you plan on installing on a left handed guitar. Finally, I agree with other reviewers who say that the sound is low. Gotta turn the volume and/or gain higher than usual, but I guess that's the humbucking design. Pros Easy installation Long Cable Sound is warm 'Inexpensive' Durable Cons Designed for right handed guitars ONLY (seems so to me at least) Sound is low

5 stars for the sound, quality, and ease of install but received a used/returned Neo-D Humbucking.
5 stars for the sound, quality, and ease of install but I received a previously used/returned Neo-D Humbucking pickup (packaging was taped together and cable showed obvious previous usage and rewrapping). This was a sold by Amazon purchase.

Impressive!
I didn’t have great expectations for this type of pickup so I was pleasantly surprised at how great it is. It installs in seconds, is very safe for your guitar finish and it sounds awesome. I plugged directly into an acoustic amp and was immediately impressed with the results. This is the perfect solution for those of us who don’t want to drill holes, etc. It can be easily move amongst all of my guitars. I got the Humbucking version and highly recommend it.

Can't Beat It!
Fishman Neo-D Passive Soundhole Pickup - Humbucker I have a Yamaha 6 string from the mid 60's that sounds great. top of the line. It is a real pain sitting a mic next to it and trying to keep that perfect distance between the mic and the sound hole. I didn't want to have a hole drilled into my guitar, so this one was suggested to me. Yes you have a cord hanging down but that is much much better than having to deal with a mic in the way. No humm, no buzz, just that same great sound you get without a mic just comming through my amp (Fender Pro Reverb, tube, and a Fender Mustang 3) Easy to put in too. If you have any trouble figureing out how to get it in just go find a 6 year old and they will have it put in, in about 5 min. Two screws and slide it in, thats all. It would be nice if they had put in a volume control on it. But they didn't, so you can use the one on your amp. I plan on getting one for my Yamaha 12 string too (also mid 60's). If you want a pick up for your accustic guitar I would suggest this one.

I am no expert on pick-ups, but I've been using it with a Fishman Loudox Mini for a month and the combination has been wonderful. Sound seems very un-colored to my ears and I have had no feedback issues sitting 6 feet from my amp. The only "con", and only a minor one, is that the clamps seem to cover very little wood on each side of the sound hole and to keep it from slipping I had to tighten the screws a lot - this in not a "finger tight" situation. So much so that I am a little anxious about crushing the wood or damaging the finish. That has not happened yet, but another 2-3 mm on each side would solve the problem by giving each clamp a little more guitar to clamp to. In any case, I still highly recommend the unit for it's sound and build qualities.

Captador de boca violão
Bom captador.

The input impedance of the preamps is 20Meg ohm with 68pF load capacitance. It also floats at 4.5V which is fine for a piezo pickup. If the customer plans to connect a magnetic pickup to the Prefix, he will need to insert a 0.1uF capacitor (25V or higher) in series with the input (between the pickup hot and input hot)."
