When you luv your Ford the way I luv my Fords, then only the best will do!
When you luv your Ford the way I luv my Fords, then only the best will do! I always use Genuine Ford Motorcraft parts and fluids whenever I can get ahold of them for maintenance of all my Ford vehicles. Amazon is a great source for finding this genuine Motorcraft Mercon-V ATF, because local auto parts store and big box stores seldom carry it in stock. There are substitutes of course, but then again, a can of spam is no substitute for a genuine smoked ham, and a bottle of generic atf is no substitute for Genuine Motorcraft Mercon-V ATF. I got the 5-quart to change the fluid in my Truck's manual 5-speed M5OD transmission. (Yep, Ford's manual trans M5OD takes Mercon-V ATF, believe it or not.) It only takes like 3.75 quarts, but it's nice to have a lil' extra just in case some spills, or to top it off later. A transmission rebuild or replacement can cost thousands, so why risk something like that by buying a cheap generic "one-size-fits-all" type fluid? Get Genuine Ford Motorcraft and keep your Ford happy! It's cheaper in the long run.

Works and arrives soon.
This is the power steering fluid for my vehicle. After flushing out my old fluid and putting this in, my car's handling is noticably better. You will need a funnel, but that was my only problem. The jug is newer looking then the jug shown, and it is rugged so you don't have to worry about it breaking and spilling in shipping.

Genuine Mercon V, Label has changed from image on amazon. Smoother shifts after Drain/fill
I have a 2004 Ford F-150 with a 4.6L and the 4R70E, New body style not heritage. I ordered two of these and they each had a different label. It was a little alarming at first, However it was a genuine product they are just transitioning to a new label and the image on amazon hasn't been updated. (pictures of attached). The Mercon V license number and SKU's and reference number were all the same. Did a transmission change at 130k, The recommended interval is 150k, however that's under normal driving conditions and I was the second owner so didn't know its history very well. I also replaced the filter (Motorcraft FT105) and swapped the pan for the Dorman 265-813 with a drain plug so I can drain it in the future without dropping the whole pan. F150 specifies approximately 14 quarts of Mercon V transmission fluid. Under normal circumstances, approximately 4-4.5 quarts of MerconV will be present in the actual โfluid panโ of the transmission, with the remaining 9.5 quarts in the torque converter and in the cooler lines. Because of this Its recommended to do a total of 3-4 drain and fills to replace a majority of the transmission fluid. This is a much safer way than flushing the transmission out. I've done two so far and spaced them out 100 miles apart. While I didn't think the transmission was shifting poorly prior to replacing the fluid, I did feel it shift. After the second drain/fill I noticed that it has gotten quite a bit smoother, almost to the point where the only reason I know its shifting under normal driving is that I can hear the RPM's drop. I can't imagine it getting any smoother, but will obviously still do a 2 more drain/fills in the next couple hundred miles to replace the majority of the fluid.

THIS STUFF IS GREAT/ EDIT SHIPPING different
Ok, Iโve been a car guy my entire life, working on my own cars keeping them running. I used this stuff on my 2003 trailblazer with the 4.2 inline 6. It has 192k miles on it. And cold start it had a loud lifter tap and a little bit of piston slap as well until it warmed up. The lifter tap stayed (quieter) but was still there with the engine warm. Yesterday morning I changed the oil again. Did the double dose (used the 16oz can). And first start after oil change the cold start tap was 90% gone. Drove it last night and when I got home it was completely quiet at idle warm. This stuff absolutely quieted 90% of the cold start lifter noise, and completely 100% quieted down warm lifter tick. It works amazing and Iโve always been skeptical. Especially something I found on instagram reels. But try it. It really does help a lot, it is expensive but Iโll keep using it with the results. To add, it may be a placebo affect from the lifter tick going away. But throttle response seems improved, and it seems to have gained some power. Not a ton, but noticeable enough to make you happy after your first drive trying this Prolube changed shipping to Amazon, from usps priority on this platform. your better off going to their site and purchasing direct, rather then pay extra to Amazon for shipping for Amazon to not get it in time
