User friendly
This builder gel is incredibly user-friendly, which is one of the biggest reasons I like it. Whether you’re a beginner or you’ve been doing nails for years, it’s easy to control and doesn’t seem to have a personal vendetta against you like some builder gels do. 😂 It has a nice consistency, self-levels well, and stays where you put it long enough to shape the nail without feeling rushed. Once cured, the nails feel strong but still lightweight, and the finished results look smooth and professional. I also love the brush-in-bottle design because it keeps the application simple and much less messy than working from a pot. I’ve used builder gels that had me questioning my career choices halfway through one nail. This one? It actually cooperates. 😂 It behaves, builds beautiful nails, and lets me look like I know exactly what I’m doing. Definitely one I’ll keep reaching for!

Natural nails need a little help? GET THIS!!
I’m not usually one to write reviews on things, especially nail products because they never really WOW me enough to do so. But THIS? This is worth as many reviews as I could give. I really started my natural nail journey this year after years of doing my own gel nails and this product is just incredible for that, from beginning to end. At first I was weary because of how thick the product was but the way it applies and self-levels makes it SO easy to use. I don’t extend my nails or anything so I can’t speak on that, but I use this as a BIAB or a builder gel to keep my natural nails strong. The prep work IS important, I dehydrated my nails, filed them to shape, and buffed the shine off. I used a gel base coat (I’m not sure if this is really necessary but I did it anyway). I cured each layer of this product for 120 seconds in my LED lamp (I prefer to over-cure to be precautious) and then I finally applied a gel top coat. The cover pink is a pretty milky pink color, but I was able to paint over it with a regular polish color after all the curing was done! My nails feel so smooth, glossy, and strong! I’ll definitely be ordering other colors of this soon!

UPDATE: Sept 7, 2024
UPDATE: This product is amazing. I definitely was not using it correctly. I had it for a while without using and I started using it a few months ago and I am not going back. The step that made a difference for me was putting on a base coat before going in with the builder gel. I prep and dehydrate my nails, then I go in with Young Nails Protein Bond. I put a layer of gel polish base coat and cure. After that, you can either paint the builder gel on and cure each layer until you get your desired thickness, or you can paint a slip layer of the builder gel that you don't cure and then go in with another blob and work it side to side down the nail. However, the latter can be a bit tricky because the product is runny and can run to the cuticles and make a mess. Once through, remove the tacky layer with alcohol and file and shape. I have had no issues since learning how to use the product correctly. The product does not lift. I have done my nails and gone 6 weeks without refilling and have had no lifting or breakage. My natural nails have grown so much that I have to keep cutting them down. I don't like the brush but the product is excellent. I would recommend it especially for those who want to grow their natural nails because it will not keep lifting if used correctly. OLD REVIEW: I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or whether this product is just trash. I am a trained and experienced beauty therapist. I have tried using this to do a gel overlay twice. The first time, I used it with dehydrator and young nails protein bond. The builder gel shrank significantly, even on the second layer. It shrank away from free-edge, sidewalls and cuticle so I had to soak it off. I tried again but only by only dehydrating, since some primers/bonders can cause this. This was at night and by the time I woke up in the morning, all the nails were peeling off from the free-edge. IBD is supposed to be a reputable brand. I am super disappointed. I am so afraid to use it on clients now.

Great builder gel, works well… but the lid was damaged to open
I purchased the IBD Builder Gel in Sheer Pink because I wanted to try something lighter than acrylic for doing my nails at home. I enjoy taking care of my nails and have been practicing extensions and overlays so I don’t always have to go to a salon. When the product arrived, I did run into one issue right away: the lid was damaged, and I honestly thought I wasn’t going to be able to open it. I tried several times by hand and it wouldn’t budge. I eventually had to use mechanic pliers just to twist it open. Definitely not the best first impression. However, once I finally opened it, the product itself worked really well. The texture is easy to work with and it self-levels nicely, which is very helpful if you’re not a professional. I also appreciate that there’s no strong acrylic smell, and it feels much lighter on the nails. The sheer pink shade is very pretty and natural. With one layer it gives a subtle healthy nail look, and you can build it up for a slightly stronger pink tone. It also cures quickly under an LED lamp, and the finished nails feel strong but not bulky. After using it several times, I can say that my nails look natural and hold up well. Despite the initial issue with the lid, the gel itself performs very nicely. Overall, if you’re looking for a builder gel that’s easy to work with, lightweight, and natural-looking, this is a good option. I just hope the lid issue was a one-time packaging problem.

Top notch stuff! Absolutely will be using this from now til eternity.
Hands down the best hard gel I’ve ever used in the last 10 years of doing my own nails. My nails have always been thin, and I’m not gentle whatsoever with them so they break. I typically use gel extensions to have strong longer nails that don’t break. I’m hoping with this, it will strengthen my nails to be able to grow them out naturally long. It was incredibly easy to use. Hate the brush end but I used a detail line brush to touch up edges. I purchased sheer pink originally, and love it. But I went back and just bought cover pink. Sheer pink is pretty much just clear, so if you’re looking for a little more tinted pink, but not wildly deep looking fake pink, go for the cover pink. It adds just enough color cover to hide imperfections in your nail bed. Don’t mind my hair dyed hands. But I used this on both my hands and feet, and did just a thin French tip using a sheer white. Then I used the builder sheet pink over it. I’m excited to get the cover pink, as it’ll hide some of my imperfection in my nail beds from the trauma I put my mitts through 😂

Very easy to use especially for a beginner
I just used this for the first time. I've previously used a rubber base builder gel which is fine but I wanted something more sturdy. First impression: amaze! First f all I used the sheer pink. It's good and thick but not so much that it oozes out everywhere when you put the brush back in the bottle. It applies easily and smoothly. It does not have any muscle memory though so you will want to cure it as soon as you get that shape you want. I was able to use my drill file to smooth any areas that were uneven. I normally would do press ones with builder gel but decided I want to repair some broken nails by extending the nail with builder gel. As a first timer with this, I found it incredibly easy and am still astonished at how good it looks. The gel comes with very detailed instruction and without misspelling or translation issues. So far, I'm an ibd girly now.

The white is very runny! Sheer pink is good for beginners
Initially I got the sheer pink and it was fantastic for a beginner, it was thick enough to give you time to work with it but also self molding. I got the white this time because I thought the pink was giving my colors a pink undertone, and the white is the same consistency as nail polish. It’s sooo thin and much harder to build with. I like to add some length and even out all my nails so this was disappointing. Going to re order the sheer pink!

DIY friendly!!
My nails have been flimsy and easily broken off my whole life. Once I started learning to do my nails, I went from gel polish, to gel x, and now builder gel. This stuff is SO GOOD and very easy to use (it’s best if you watch some tutorials though!) The first photo are my current NATURAL nails with a trim and a fresh application of builder gel, the second photo was my nails after design removal & old builder gel underneath. The last photo are how short and flat my nails naturally are before I started using builder gel. This stuff has allowed my nails to grow longer than I’ve ever had them and I’ll never go back

My favourite Builder in a Bottle!
Love this Builder in a Bottle! The consistency and viscosity is perfect! Goes on thick and stays thick where you want it thick like the arch and smooths beautifully and evenly to the nail walls. Self levels beautifully, especially when finger is held upside down to pull it into a perfect arch on top. Can touch up shape with brush and it self levels at a speed that is easy to work with and not too rushed or too slow. Viscosity is slow enough that you aren’t rushing to avoid cuticle flooding but I still do a flash cure under the light before moving on to the next finger with each finger to set the perfect level and arch, then cure the whole hand for the full time at the end. I apply a nail dehydrator, then a primer and skip base coat under the BIAB. I apply gel colour directly on top without wiping the inhabiting layer off so that acts as the tacky base top top so no base required above or below this product. I have both Clear and Cover Pink. I prefer the Cover Pink for it’s consistency and how it is a beautiful neutral all on its own but also a nice base colour for gel colour on top (it hides any nailed imperfections/drill marks etc). Super happy with this product!

Excellent
Apply a thin coat and use a top coat, needs to be cured under a lamp, I’ve used this with nail extensions and to harden my natural nails, highly recommend this product

C'est normal qu'il soit liquide comme ça ? Les avis disent qu'il est epais mais je le trouve liquide comme un semi permanent
