Amazing lift/color for dark hair!
This has consistently been my “go-to” for a nice bright red. I naturally have a dark auburn color. I can go from that to fire engine red in less than an hour. It doesn’t fry your hair. Years ago, I also had luck using this dye with previously box dyed hair. I recommend it to everyone as I receive a lot of compliments on my hair. It lasts a LONG time if you maintain a routine of washing your hair in cool water only. I usually only have to touch up the overall color (using red manic panic) every 2 months. It’s really easy to do root touch ups with this too. I have always used it for all over color rather than highlights.

Ariel Color - Perfect!
Daughter got the role as Ariel in her high school musical and decided she wanted to dye her hair for it. Looked at temporary or 'semi' permanent, but most reviews for that left hair stiff or not as natural. The director wanted her hair to lay natural and if any dying messed it up, she'd rather it stay brown. You can see the before picture of her hair color. The light shows her hair different colors, but overall, she's got brown hair with light blond (natural) color throughout. We did use a 40 volume lifter to mix with this red dye. Yes we needed ALL three red dyes to color all of her hair. We only mixed 2 tubes to start and could have gotten away with 2 1/2 tubes, but needed more than 2 either way. We bought a 12 pack of hair clips to layer her hair for ease of dying it. Started with the ends/tips of the hair, then worked up to the roots. Read other people's 'how-to' and learned the roots take color much easier and it was obvious once her whole head was dyed. The roots looked bright pink and the ends red. She was very nervous after the initial shower that it was too bright, but the picture taken from her back was the red after hours of completely drying. The other 2 pictures are 2 weeks after dying her hair. We also used mostly conditioner for the 2 weeks and minimal shampoo, even though both were specifically for colored hair. The color did tone back from bright red to just red over the weeks. We didn't let the product sit a full 20 minutes after taking 20 minutes to apply the product. She waited 10 minutes after completing the dying process and then got in the shower to just rinse for 10-15 minutes. Then I bleached the shower floor from all the red! After about 5 showers over the next few days/weeks, there wasn't much red on the floor. There was less and less each time. Highly recommend this product if this is the color you are going for.

Keeping my hair red for 7 years!
This product is perfect for dark hair going to red! I get compliments on my hair and asked how I do it!! I use this and either 20 or 30 volume developer. I have used this product with no developer and it didn't change my roots very much but it did refresh the rest of my hair. I appreciate having the packs of 3 because red is very hard to maintain and also Sally's beauty supply is always low in stock in store and its always pricier than on Amazon. I have been using this product for 7 years! I try to keep wash days to a minimum. I usually like to take hot showers so that does make the color fade a lot faster. My ends will fade first and start to fade into a pink tone.

Best Product for that Cherry Red!
I've been using this product for well over a year now and I would never consider using a different product if I wanted to continue my red hair, I have medium brown hair--tending towards the dark side, and this gives me that bright cherry red I'm looking for! When I'm initially using the product, when my hair is still totally brown, it does take two full processes to get the bright red. I'll do the first process, wait about 2 days (deep conditioning for those two days) and then do the process again. Remember that this is not for light hair, only to lift dark and deposit the red at the same time. It does bleach your hair! I made a rookie mistake my first go-round. I had a really hard time only dying my new hair growth, so I would re-dye my entire head when I just needed to do my roots. This caused my hair to be over processed and it wouldn't hold the color anymore. I ended up with light pink hair--basically blonde with the red barely hanging in there. I had to completely regrow my hair, get it healthy and shiny again, before I started back with the red. Don't make my mistake! I get so many compliments on it--just remember to deep condition, use a red shampoo or mix a vegetable based dye with your shampoo/conditioner to refresh your color (like Manic Panic or Raw). If you need help with this, there are a lot of YouTube videos available to walk you through it.

Better than bleach powder
This is way better to use instead of bleach powder. I have a mix of 4B&4C hair and I have notice less damage to my hair ends when I use this loreal highlight. The color does last longer and whenever I wash my hair I don't see a lot of color in the water, sometimes none. I just wish the red was brighter but I will continue using this brand.

Bright Red Hair Dont Care
I have been using this product for about 5-6 years now, and I love it! I naturally have dark brown hair and this product allows me to get that bold, bright, blood red hair color without going through the headache of bleaching my hair. I love how easy it is to use and how long it lasts. I wash my hair 2-3 a week with cold water, and I have long and thick hair and I can go about 8-12 weeks before I have to redo the coloring process. I love this product and I highly recommend this color and this brand!

Amazing stuff!!! I will most definitely be buying again....its beautiful colour for SUMMER And when the sun hits my hair BAM its a stunning red I couldn't be happier 😊 My story... Had a bit of a bleach disaster ombreing my hair and vowed never to go near bleach again!!! So how was I going to achieve red for the summer?? I Done tons and tons of research and this product kept being mentioned, so I went ahead and purchased 👍😊 I have dark hair anyway but over the years I have dyed my hair black/blue black etc i will soon to be hitting my mid 30's and have wanted my hair red for so long, I needed to achieve my ultimate goal of having red hair WITHOUT the use of bleach!! So....I ordered 3 of these and trust me you will need them if you have dark medium length hair😊 It took me 3 days to achieve my colour Day 1 - used colour b4 brought me back to my Natural hair colour... 1 was enough for me it did pong a bit I wanted red hair so I dealt with it lol this was good stuff and left me with no dye in my hair what so ever, followed the steps religiously and left my hair dry naturally Day 2 - used 2 hair boxes of dye with 30 Volume developer I purchased the loreal developer from amazon too but get the larger size as your gunna need it. Add dye to hair from tip to about 2-3 cm away from root and leave on for about 10-15 mins then add rest of dye to root area for time specified, wrap hair in clingflim or carrier bag, (I put a winter hat on over my Clingfilmed hair, kids and hubby had a good laugh 😂) Rinse in LUKEWARM TO COLD WATER and condition, left to dry naturally Day 3 repeat day 2 BUT I didn't add any dye to my roots as they took very well 😃 My hair came out just the way I want it, i know using this again will achieve a brighter colour but for now I am very happy with the results My hair is not dry or damaged in anyway so this dye is great for me!! And best bit so cheap too!!! Just wanting to share my experience and hope it helps but I am NOT a hairdresser, i have been so disappointed leaving hairdressers over the years so for 10 years i have dyed and cut my own hair so I know what works for me everyone is different so..... My advise is ALWAYS do a patch test And Research research research there is loads of advice out there I hope this review has helped and Hope you get the results u want!! good luck everyone 🍀😊 xxx
