Solid fixed blade option, especially if on a budget 👍
Great knife for daily bag and/or car. Good to have for emergencies while out etc, you never know. Feels sturdy and blade is sharp. The sheath is good, feel like it will last awhile. The grip is good and comfortable in hand. Its size is just right for a daily carry fixed blade too. The price is good as well, not ridiculously over-priced like a lot of other knives these days. All in all, a good deal and I would recommend 👍

Great All-In-One Tool
This is a reasonably priced knife for everyday outdoor carry, kit, or bug-out bag. The knife is sharp out of the package and the sheath appears surprisingly well built. This piece feels nice in your hand and the sheath seems good and of nice quality with what appears to be high quality stitching as well. As you can see in my photos I have made a few personal modifications like adding a leather dangler so the knife rides lower and hopefully provides some strength and longevity to the sheath strap. Another reason is the ability to add it to your belt or molle on your bag. The paracord is nicely placed and gives additional cordage for a leg tie or any other needs. Like others the ferro rod rides upside down but is FIRMLY secure to the sheath with a gasket seal and requires some effort to deploy it. Keep in mind that the ferro rod is a last resort so you should not have to remove it constantly if as always you carry matches or a lighter. I am very confident that it will stay in place with minimal risk of coming out or becoming lost. I would by this again and recommend it to anyone looking for a cost effective outdoor, kit, or bug-out-bag knife.

A well made knife.
Seems to be a well made knife, feels good in the hand and has a comfortable weight. The fire striker is perfectly sized and thros a good spark. The knife sharpener seems appropriately sized and works well.

Gerber hit a Home Run with this Knife
5 stars not 4 this could be my favorite fixed blade I've ever owned. Well built sturdy comfortable and just looks cool. I will have this knife the rest of my life. Gerber it a homerun with this one! I highly recommend it and will be buying them for Christmas presents this year!

Gerber: Make more knives like this.
See, this is where Gerber excels. Gerber should just do fixed-blade knives, because this thing is excellent. Gerber, don't do folders anymore, just make really really good full tang fixed blade knives! The good: 1. The sheath secures and locks the blade nicely, it's not going to fall out, but it'll come out when needed. You can do a scout carry or on your hip, the sheath supports both. 2. That built in sharpener is pretty handy, though it would be better if they recessed the screws or had screws screwed into the back of the sharpener rather than the front (I'm running the blade along that, get out of the way, screws!) 3. okay okay, let's talk about other stuff on the sheath, like the ferrocerium rod. It seems a bit small, but with the handle that it's attached to, it's very effective. 4. The blade itself is 420HC I believe, good corrosion resistance, full tang, holds an edge, and the striker for the ferrocerium rod is on the backside of the blade. 5. Oh and the hammer pommel is pretty awesome. I've used it for stakes. Beats using the back side of a screwdriver because you forgot the mallet. A few not so good things: 1. The whistle: ehhhh. I lost it. I untied it, then I couldn't get the lanyard back on it, and eventually lost it. Oh well. Don't ever untie the whistle. I didn't buy it fir the whistle. 2. The screws on the built-in sharpener - why would you stick screws in the front? That's just daft. I get that it makes assembly easier at the factory, but that means that the sharpener looses a lot of surface area to the darn screw heads. So would I recommend this? Yeah, I gave it four stars, which means "Above average, a few quirks, but definitely good". Mine is kept in my car.

Very Good Purchase
This is a good typical Gerber knife. It has held up very well for medium duty activities. It feels really good in the hand (personal preference). If found on sale it is a good value. I would recommend

Best tool in my rescue bag
Great knife I keep in the back of my car for emergencies. There is nothing that I can find to be lacking with this blade and handle. I have hammered it into trees and used as a step and didn’t bend or break the blade. Comes reasonably sharp, scabbard is solid and well built which prevents the knives from falling out and or stabbing through the case if you land on it. I would say this would pass a jump master inspection for airborne use.

Great all purpose knife
Nice knife and the quality is consistent with other Gerber products and tools. I was hoping the sheath would be more easily compatible with securing to molle, but I made a work around. I like the survival whistle attached to the butt of the knife, but it makes hanging the knife in my handle less nimble, but ita easily removable.

Great survival knife
Great knife especially for only $80 comes with a nice and sharp blade with a grip that feels sturdy. I have used the sharpener once in the time I have had it. I have also been able to light a few fires with the flint and steel and really like the sheath. Super happy with this purchase.

Sharp out of box
I've collected and used knives for over 45 years. Knives are just tools. You take care of your screwdrivers and socket set they give back years of service. The weird culture of knife users have brought unexplainable types of abusive behavior or culture to the knives of today This knife is as good as some of my higher priced knives and in some instances better. If you need a good back pack knife with some heft, easy to sharpen and can set up shelter as well as some light kindling. This is your knife. I love the wet grip handle as well as the pummel for driving in tent pegs. The quality and price are good and for the love of mankind if your going to split wood buy a hatchet!

Excellent quality knife for outdoor and survival use
The Gerber Ultimate Survival Knife feels solid and reliable from the moment you hold it. The blade is sharp and holds its edge well, and the grip feels secure even when wet. I really like the added fire starter and whistle — perfect for camping or emergencies. Overall, a tough and well-balanced knife that’s built to last — really good quality gear.

Seems like good quality!
Received the set and the knife and case seem great! I haven’t had a chance to use it yet but if I use it and my opinion changes I’ll definitely come back here and change my review!

Great, well built knife.
Big solid knife. Nice heavy feel. I use for hunting, fishing and as a tool...it so far stands up well and sharpens fairly easily.
