One of the better ice packs I've purchased. The straps are strong and well-attached. The cover material is durable, and the inside freezy stuff is thick enough to stay frozen a couple hours or more. Make sure you wrap it in a towel, partly to trap condensation, party to protect your skin from too much cold action. I see others saying its stiff when first out of the freezer. I have a dedication freezer that gets extra-cold, but I have not experienced any issues about flexibility. Also, I like the asymmetry of the straps, so one can go around my waist while the other goes around my thigh if I want to focus on just one hip. HOT TIP: For use on your whole back, make sure the long strap is sticking out after you wrap in a towel. Now, take that long strap and go AROUND THE BACK of your chair, and attach it with the Velcro again. This keeps everything in place even if you fidget in your chair. Plus, you can get up and down without the ice pack sliding around.

I am so happy that I bought this for after surgery, stays cold for a long time and doesn't take that long to refreeze. Also its big enough to cover the whole part of my hip and incision. Great product

Great ice pack, stays cold a good amount of time, straps are thick and stay put. Only downside is the gel inside does freeze into a solid, so it’s difficult to put it on when it’s fresh out of the freezer. After about 5-10 minutes it’s flexible enough to fit well.

I recently had surgery and needed to have an ice pack. The machine i received from the hospital was great. I couldn't walk around with it. This simply velcros together around your waist and thigh. Easy to put on even when is pain. The freezing time last at least 30 minutes..maybe more (haven't timed it but easily 30 minutes). Extremely comfortable when using the soft side. It covered my whole hip and upper thighs which was incredible. Best ice pack to use when you need to walk around.

I bought two of these. They were very useful when I had a total hip replacement. Very easy to freeze and then apply. They stayed on very well. Regular ice packs just won’t do the job. If you’re having surgery, these will be very helpful to you.

I purchased this ice wrap for my recovery after surgery. It has some great positives: it is easy to put on using the two straps, the pouch design is quite good, and the price is reasonable. However, it has three specific flaws that could be easily fixed:Short Cooling Time: The thermal capacity only keeps the area chilled for about 15 minutes. Adding more gel to the pack would easily extend this time.Structural Weakness: The plastic ring is attached to the fabric using the same stretchy material as the belt. Because of this flexibility, the ring twists under pressure. Replacing this attachment with a sturdy nylon strap would solve the issue. (See photo).Stiffness When Frozen: The gel gets quite rigid when frozen, making the wrap inflexible. It requires forced bending to shape it around the body. Using a higher-quality gel or clay/mud compound would keep it pliable while frozen and retain the cold much longer.

Works great, have been using it for two days. Easy to use! Boy is it cold.

Replaced ice machine after hip surgery and this worked so much better,portable, easy to set up for use, and I got 2 to rotate every 20 min. On 20 min off.

I got this to aid in recovery from hip replacement. They are fine. However, I found that i did not need the strap on feature, I didn't need to wear the cold pack around. A simple large pack would have met my needs, as i used it only when sitting or lying down.

It’s a good size for the hip and freezes quickly - very effective. The straps are good but they are a bit short around the waist for plus size - I’m size 22 and they only just make it. Also the ‘tabs’ at the sides that the straps go through are hard plastic that can be uncomfortable if you don’t get the position right.
