I purchased this adapter to use with two Pentax SMC Takumar lenses; a 55 f/1.8 and a 135 f/3.5 The adapter mounts securely onto the camera, with no difficulty. Once locked into place, the adapter doesn't move at all. Mounting M42 lenses onto the adapter is as simple as screwing them in. The threads are smooth, and my two lenses mount and dismount with no issues. There are tiny screws to adjust the tension of the screw mount, in case the aperture and distance scales don't align, but everything aligned perfectly on my X-Pro1. The adapter adds a little length to the overall size of the adapted lenses, but it's nothing to worry about, since the overall size is still relatively compact. Everything together looks exceptional. Mirrorless camera technology has given a lot of classic lenses a second lease on life. If you don't mind manual controls, you can pick up some quality glass for very little money. This is my second Fotasy adapter, and just like the first one, I'm very happy with it.

I bought this to fit a pentax takumar 135 f2 to my fuji xt2 and it works great. it's very solid and holds the lens on firmly.

Of the three Fotasy adapters I bought this is the only one with an issue. The adapter built is just fine. It mounts to the lens and the body very easily and it is pretty snug. The only flaw is when I screw on my M42 lenses. The lens ends up being a half turn to far such that the aperture markers face the bottom of the body instead of the top where you can see them. It works but it is upside down. I don't know if this is the issue with all of their M42 adapters or I just got a bad one. Too bad because the fit and finish is as good as more expensive adapters. I am going to returns it for a replacement. Hopefully the replacement would be pointing in the right direction.

Recently ordered the Fotasy M42 to Fuji X adapter. Because of the low price, I was initially worried about the build quality, or the fit, but that proved to be completely unnecessary. The quality and fit and is surprisingly good! Excellent even. It is well made and light weight, with steel mounts, so the risk of anything breaking is slim to none. There are no sharp edges and the whole things must have been CNC milled. I see absolutely no reason to ever buy a more expensive band.

All M42 lenses on the Fuji mount work, but they are upside down. So, trying to figure out aperture is a real pain when you have to keep looking at the bottom of your camera. Otherwise, it works fine.

Simple, perfect adapter for putting my new Helios on my x-pro 2. Easy to adjust if the screw mount doesn’t leave the markings in the right place.

With this adapter, lens is upside down when fully tightened. The lens should be rotated 180 degrees when fully tightened to see focus/aperture information.
