Datel TurboFire Evo Wireless Controller for PS3 with Combat Command LCD Display - Flat Black

After reading the mixed reviews about this controller, I have decided to try my luck at this. Needless to say, I have regretted my purchase. First of all, this controller doesn't connect to the customizer software downloaded from either codejunkies.com or Datel's website. The software doesn't recognize the device. I tried running the software in compatibility mode under Windows XP SP3 and running it under administration privileges as it was recommended by Datel's customer service website and it didn't work. So updating the controller was out of the question.The lcd screen flickers a little bit like it's about ready to go out. My biggest issue is the battery life. I have new energizer rechargeable batteries and after a couple of hours, I get a annoying message from my PS3 that my batteries are low and it needs to be recharged. Shortly after getting that message, the battery dies. I'm not sure if this thing is a battery hog if there's something wrong with the hardware. It works if it's plugged in with the usb cable, but it was disappointing to say the very least that the batteries didn't last too long in wireless mode.I also noticed when I shake the controller a little bit or a tap the back of the battery pack, the controller shuts off. It doesn't that all the time, but it's definitely a concern. Controls are decent, but I found the controls don't work as well in certain games. The plus side is that it syncs with the PS3 and the controller is able to turn on my PS3. However, I don't recommended buying this controller unless you don't mind having it plugged into the PS3 if you're planning to play for hours and hours. Forget about using the customizer software because it doesn't work. Buy at your own risk.

I love this controller. I just bought a second one. I use it on the PS3 for MAME games as well as call of duty zombies (rapid fire for the pistols/single shot weapons works awesome).No dongle needed. Very easy to use menu. You can turn your ps3 on and off with it. If you have rechargeable batteries in it you can use your usb cable to charge it.I have an intensafire fully modded controller and this one beats it hands down.

i got it seemed ok at first then the lights blink off and on and it keeps showing batterys are dead when they are new tried new ones same thing it freezes then i plug it into game and its ok for a while it fires ok when it works blue lights dont work right out the box if you are more than 6ft from game it wont work turbofire is only a little faster than stock controller for the price its ok if it worked all the time

Bought this used not knowing that you have to go on codemonkeys.com to change any settings on the controller. For whatever reason my pc will not download the program so I can do that. There is no phone number to talk to anyone to find out what my pc is lacking in order to download the program and there is nothing in the faq's about this type of problem either. Very frustrating.

Did not work

Should have gone with a Wildfire instead, but this controller gets the job done and includes some extra wanted features. Datel and their online support/software is weak, however that doesn't affect the capability of the device.

It's was out standing just don't like how there's no support on thumb sticks. But after all its great for your benti-fit

My son wanted this for his call of duty games and has really enjoyed it since the purchase. thank you.
