Great quality and price!
Absolutely love these! They smell amazing and the scent lasts for a long time. I put mine in a small crockpot starting in the fall and the aroma is amazing!

Whole lotta lotta
I was running out and I kept forgetting to pick up a bunch of sticks from the local supermarket and realized I couldn't get a big container of sticks from Costco, so I ordered off Amazon. What I got was a whole lotta cinnamon sticks! Man that was a big bag. So much so I was a little wasteful with it, handing a stick (two) to my toddler and letting him run around with sticks in his hand, which eventually got on the floor, but enough of my domestic life! I have used a few for cooking. Some sticks are easier to break than others when you're trying to get more of the flavor around. The scent isn't powerful. It's there but it's like the sticks I've gotten from the international grocer, fine for my culinary projects. Just so I can keep them fresh, I broke out the Freshsaver and vacuum sealed them in something else. The bag pictured is only partway full. I had already taken a bunch out to put in the old container I have for cinnamon sticks in the kitchen. What remained was going in storage, so what you see was what I had left over. Still, a lot.

Awesome, as described (28oz bag)
I got the 28oz bag of Saigon Cinnamon from Vietnam, and boy, was I in for a treat! This stuff is the holy grail of cinnamon for my cooking, heat/sweet/aroma! The order arrived super quick, on November 1, 2023, and it's got a good shelf life until May 2025. The 28oz bag was short a 1/2 oz, but hey, close enough, right? I'm not here to nitpick on individual cinnamon sticks' lengths either, but they seemed to range from 2.75" to a solid 3". I'm just here for the flavor, and it did not disappoint. Some sticks are thicker than others, and that's perfectly fine for me. I can pick and choose depending on my use at the moment. There were hardly any broken pieces, just a few crumbs, really. Grinding them up would be less than a teaspoon of powder. And that aroma...oh my! It's like a siren's call for baking. I had to resist making cinnabuns right away and focused on sealing them up for later. Sure, there were a few sticks with a touch of discoloration, but it was all bark/knot related. No biggie. Now, let's address the elephant in the room - those negative reviews. Turns out, they're talking about other products listed here, especially the "1 count (14oz)" version. Trust me, that's not the Saigon Cinnamon you're looking for. The label on the picture of 1 count doesn't even mention Saigon Cinnamon, and it's seriously misleading. Iโm glad I took a chance with the 28oz bag. I've got nothing but pros and not a single con in sight. Happy cooking! ๐

Not the value it was pre-CoVID, but still best deal on Amazon
Important Note: If you have only used the overpriced Spice Islands or similar 3 ounce bottles, you have been using Grade A cinnamon. This is NOT Grade A. It is commercial grade and very good commercial grade, but let me explain... . You know that cinnamon is a bark and cinnamon sticks are simply "curls" of bark shaved off the tree, right? Well, the innermost shavings are grade A, because they are very consistent in color, highly aromatic and very balanced in flavor. Outer shavings, which this bag will include, are less consistent in color (it IS a bark, after all) and, once dried, may be a bit mottled with dark and light areas that might give the impression of mold, but this is normal. Moldy cinnamon smells BAD, so use the sniff test if you need to. That said, I use this in making my small batch masala chai mix and the results could not be better. It was a better deal when the same price got me 2 lb. At 20 oz., I've lost a full third of the value, but I still don't see a better price on Amazon for whole bulk cinnamon.

Last few orders much better than first one.
My original review is below. As noted the first time I ordered the quality was unimpressive to say the least. Since then however there has been a significant improvement. I've bought several packages (via subscribe and save) and haven't found anything to compare any where near the same price. ... I have ordered these previously and am going to give them another shot. They are not the best cinamon sticks around but are by far the cheapest. Some are incredibly thick some, some have good aroma, others don't. I use them in my coffee and given time they produce a nice flavor. I sometimes grind cinamon sticks up with my coffee beans these don't work well for that as they are difficult to break up into small enough pieces for the grinder to handle and they also tend to be tough and fiberous. Now I just put them in the pot. Depending on how my next order is I may or may not buy again.

Wrong Product, Amazon's Fault
I recently found out that cassia cinnamon is toxic and should not be consumed. I just disposed of over a pound Indian cassia with plans to replace it with real, healthy, Cylon cinnamon. Went to Amazon search and entered "Cylon cinnamon" and this product showed up very high on the list. When I received it, the label said Saigon cassia so obviously I ordered the wrong thing. Now I'm told that I can't return it so my time and money are wasted. Yes, I should read more careful before I purchased, but maybe Amazon could meet me half way, stop ignoring my search words, and just show me what I asked for. I give Amazon a 1 star rating for a) showing me the wrong product in my search, b) selling a toxic product that no one should consume (legal or not), c) not allowing me to return it when the fault is at least half their's, and d) not letting me know clearly up front that the product was not returnable, which might have helped me take pause and reconsider this erroneous purchase. As for the product, I give it 1 star because not only is cassia toxic so those selling it should stop immediately, but this Saigon stuff is even worse. It had no aroma of cinnamon at all. The Indian cassia I throw away smelled better than real real Cylon cinnamon does, with a very deep and complex flavor that I will genuinely miss using. What is wrong with Saigon cinnamon that has no aroma? The seller is not only remorseless about selling a toxic product (as is Amazon), but it doesn't even have the flavor/aroma of cinnamon. It it worked in a recipe at all, one would have to use 10 times as much and that is even more toxins.

Great value and great taste if you prefer Saigon over Ceylon.
Great value if you use a lot of cinnamon, if not, you can put the sticks in mason jars, vacuum seal them, and put them in the freezer till ready to use! This bag should last me about 3 years. One of the best tasting Saigon varieties I've tried, my favorite for cinnamon rolls and snickerdoodles.
