Heavy Wax Coated Unassembled Langstroth Deep/Brood Box with Frames and Beeswax Coated Foundation Sheet (10 Frame)

Every component of this box and frames are of outstanding quality. Easy to put together using wood glue and the supplied screws and nails. The box is very well waxed as were the frames inserts. The fit of all the joints were accurate and tight. I am definitely getting future bee supplies from this company.

I am a first year beekeeper who currently has only two hives. Each of those hives are from different manufacturers and one is wax-dipped while the other was unfinished and I had to find and use genuine tung oil to finish it. I prefer the wax-dipped hive for esthetic reasons and the claim of better longevity than painted hives. The problem I found with both hives was the fit of the boxes were both extremely tight and assembling them require a rubber mallet and the process cracked one of the boxes on each hive. Not so with this Bee Castle deep box! The fit was tight, but precisely fitted, requiring no hammering on the box to assemble, just solid bodily force to make the dovetails fit together perfectly. I didn't have to shave wax out of the dovetail joints to assemble the box. The quality of the frame parts for the wax foundations are equally a precise and quality fit. I simply could not be more pleased. I have two more complete large Bee Castle bee hives on order and can't wait to see if the quality standards are as high as this deep box has proven to be. If so, Bee Castle, you've made a customer for life!

New to working with bees at Koinonia Farm, we are building our first hive with these products and are very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. They were easily assembled and appears to be a very durable product.

Great product

This boxes are amazing, I'll give them 10 out of 5 LOL. It was so easy to assemble and I love the fact that everything is wax coded. When I was assembling them even the bees were flying around it ready for their new home, somehow the was coat was attracting them. It came with everything (nails and screws), very sturdy and the wood didn't crack.

Bee Castle bee hives are great. The first hive I ever owned was a Bee Castle. It comes Disassembled, but installation was very easy and rook only a few minutes. They also come coated with a heavy coat of beeswax to protect the wooden box from the elements. Mine is now 2’years old, and beeswax is wearing off.

Beautifully made but …. I had to have my husband help me file down some fittings on one side of the box as it would not seat in the dovetail. Otherwise, great box

Nice kit fits together beautifully the only thing I didn't like is the plastic foundation had an unpleasant sent not like bees wax. I used it for a brood box the bee's don't seem to mind. All in all a decent starter box but I wouldn't recommend using it for a honey super.

Waxed boards are very nice. Great natural look with no need to paint:) mine fit together so good, I could have gotten away without screwing together. Wonderful fit. At around $70 to Canada was also a good price. Update June 2023 - would not buy waxed boxes again. They only look great when new. After out in the sun the finish wears off. Then you have a box that looks bad and you can't paint because there is wax residue on it. I will only buy boxes I can paint from now on.
