This is the best! It is CEDAR, coated in a thin layer of wax. Most important, it is accurately cut so it assembles like a dream, fitting snuggly and perfectly. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Thank you BeeCastle!!

These BeeCastle deep brood boxes are excellent quality. Cedar boxes can be hard to find now, and these are sturdy, well-made, heavily wax coated, and good looking once assembled. The frames and beeswax-coated foundation are a nice value, and everything felt solid enough for real hive use. I was very happy with the quality and appearance. Beautiful boxes, practical setup, and exactly what I needed for my bees.

Every component of this box and frames are of outstanding quality. Easy to put together using wood glue and the supplied screws and nails. The box is very well waxed as were the frames inserts. The fit of all the joints were accurate and tight. I am definitely getting future bee supplies from this company.

It's better quality than the other boxes I use to run. Easy to assemble, thick wax coat.

A solid product for beekeepers new and old, both with ease of assembly and cost, but a word of warning; the frames are surprisingly delicate and the wood of both the frames and the box itself can split easily. Also, the surface is a tad difficult to coat due to the hydrophobic beeswax coating already present, so if you plan on applying any kind of paint, stains, or varnish, stretch out the application process over the span of several days and be sure to leave ample time for it to dry. I applied a weather-proofing stain to my boxes over the course of a week and it took roughly 4 days to finally finish drying, even though it would ordinarily dry in 2. That said, the added effort is worth it to give your hive that personal touch.

This boxes are amazing, I'll give them 10 out of 5 LOL. It was so easy to assemble and I love the fact that everything is wax coded. When I was assembling them even the bees were flying around it ready for their new home, somehow the was coat was attracting them. It came with everything (nails and screws), very sturdy and the wood didn't crack.

Waxed boards are very nice. Great natural look with no need to paint:) mine fit together so good, I could have gotten away without screwing together. Wonderful fit. At around $70 to Canada was also a good price. Update June 2023 - would not buy waxed boxes again. They only look great when new. After out in the sun the finish wears off. Then you have a box that looks bad and you can't paint because there is wax residue on it. I will only buy boxes I can paint from now on.

They are well built. Look great. Tons of wax on them. Easy to put together.

It's a good product.

Nice kit fits together beautifully the only thing I didn't like is the plastic foundation had an unpleasant sent not like bees wax. I used it for a brood box the bee's don't seem to mind. All in all a decent starter box but I wouldn't recommend using it for a honey super.
