Grab, Go, Fix: The Tool-Check Plus Set - Effortless Solutions for Fast Fixes
Fantastic set for on the go repairs! Here's my take on this nifty little set. First off, the size is a game-changer. It's small enough to toss into my glove compartment, yet it packs all the essentials. I've waved goodbye to lugging around a bulky toolbox for minor fixes. The variety of bits and sockets in this set is nothing short of amazing. Whether I'm dealing with a stubborn Phillips head screw or those tricky torx screws, this kit has got me covered. It's like having a mini tool box in your drawer or glove box, ready for just about any screw profile you might encounter. The ratchet in this set deserves a special mention. We've all been there, trying to fix something in an awkward, cramped space. This ratchet, with its fine-tooth mechanism, has been a lifesaver. It delivers solid torque and the small return angle means I can work in tight spots without needing a lot of room to maneuver. What I also love is the magnetic bit holder – a small detail, but it's a big deal when you're up a ladder and need to swap bits quickly. No fumbling, no dropping bits, just a smooth, quick change, and you're good to go. As for durability, after over a year of use, my Tool Check Plus is still going strong. It's taken a few drops (don't ask) and been through various weather conditions, but the quality and robustness of these tools have stood the test of time. Wera wasn't messing around when they put this set together. The ergonomic design is the icing on the cake. Long hours of DIY projects can be tough on the hands, but this set is comfortable to use. The ratchet handle, especially, fits nicely in my palm, making the work less of a strain. Ultimately, the Tool Check Plus is a compact, versatile, and robust toolkit that's ideal for anyone who needs a reliable set for everyday tasks. Whether you're in the car and on the go or in the house, you can be prepared for whatever DIY challenges come your way, this is one toolkit you'll want to have at your side.

The Best!
Review: Wera 056490 Tool-Check Plus Bit Ratchet Set with Sockets - Metric Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) In a marketplace teeming with tools that often underdeliver, the Wera 056490 Tool-Check Plus Bit Ratchet Set is a breath of fresh air. This meticulously crafted set is the epitome of engineering precision and functionality, melding an array of indispensable bits and sockets into a compact yet robust package. The Metric Advantage First and foremost, this set comes in metric measurements. A boon for those involved in precision engineering or international projects, the metric system offers a level of detail that is critical for getting those tight fits just right. Compact Versatility Don't let the compact size fool you; this set is a veritable Swiss Army knife of functionality. With a myriad of bit types and socket sizes, it gives you the power to tackle a vast range of tasks without having to switch between multiple toolsets. Superior Build Quality Constructed with Wera's trademark attention to quality, the materials feel robust and are built to last. The ratchet mechanism is both smooth and durable, allowing for quick bit changes and a sturdy grip during torque-heavy applications. Ergonomics Meet Design The ratchet handle is designed for human hands, with contours and grips that make prolonged use not just bearable but actually comfortable. Even the case, often an afterthought in similar products, is engineered for accessibility and durability. Portability Perfected All these features are encapsulated in a sleek, compact case that is as portable as it is functional. Whether you're a professional on the go or a DIY enthusiast with limited storage space, this set is designed to accompany you without being cumbersome. Nitpicking? Maybe a Bit... If there's one minor downside, it's that the set is so comprehensive that it might be overkill for someone who needs just a basic toolkit. However, for those who appreciate the flexibility of having a multi-functional toolset within arm's reach, this is a non-issue. Conclusion The Wera 056490 Tool-Check Plus Bit Ratchet Set with Sockets is not just another toolkit; it's an investment in quality and versatility. Its superb design, material excellence, and functional diversity make it a must-have for any serious tool aficionado. In summary, if you're in the market for a top-of-the-line bit and socket set, look no further. This Wera set is, without a doubt, one of the best offerings in its category. Highly recommended!

Awesome tool set. Given as a gift.
My son is an armorer and he absolutely loves the quality and versatility of the included selections of sockets and tips. Easy to use and of a good functional size for a hoe shop or travel tool kit.

Compact. Useful. Fun.
Maybe a splurge purchase. Maybe an impulse buy. Maybe I didn't really need this. But I really like it. It is smaller than it appears online. Perhaps the tiniest ratchet I've ever used. I've used this handy kit for lots of little repairs / assemblies around the house & yard. Good quality and decent variety of bits and sockets. It is not the heaviest duty, but is certainly well made and solid.

Good but expensive
I like this compact yet well designed socket set and have used it for various small projects around the house. It feels like decent quality and the clever design of the housing keeps everything organized, compact, and yet easily reachable. The two gripes are the price and some difficulty removing the socket heads. At around $75 it does feel expensive. While I can’t comment on a decline in quality in the Wera brand and whether the quality warrants the price, there seem to be plenty of other options for light work around the house that would be half the price. The second gripe is that the socket heads can be really difficult to pull off their metal holders. They are held on by metal prongs that expand to grip the socket head from the inside. But they work a bit too well. This might loosen a bit over time with use, but out of the box I struggled to get some of the socket heads off. It’s a nice set though and worth getting if you have the money for it.

This little thing is impressive!
OK. I may have stumbled upon a new (to me) and very interesting brand. Lots of nice tools, and my first experience did not disappoint. First impressions are great. Fit and finish is some of the best for these sort of tools. The ratchet is completely deburred and feels great in the hand. Nice small ratcheting clicks. And the rubber on the screwdriver handle is the right abut of polymer firmness and traction. Have not used it wet, but seems promising. That extension with swiveling barrel is brilliant. I am an engineer and detail oriented and this package has it all for me. This is not a full set for your garage, but I am using this as a spare set in my vehicle. The ratchet is roughly 1/4" size, but measures just under 3.5" in total length. Yet fits comfortably in the hand. It's not meant for big jobs, but this covers the most commonly used sizes of basic tools for me. I purchased the metric set. It is amazing how many 10mm & 8mm fasteners are in modern automobiles. While this is small in size, I bet I could take apart everything but the engine with this impressive little guy! Certainly anything in the interior, and most body panels. Plus hex drivers, screw bits, and Torx from to T10-T40. Damn. Now I will have tools on hand when I drop in to see my mother and she asks me to fix something. All without taking much of any space. Fancy. Let's be honest, this isn't an inexpensive product. However, the more I look over the item, the more I appreciate their engineering skill, refinement, and ultimately come to the conclusion that I believe this is an excellent value. Hey, it's cheaper than SnapOn, but what really isn't? The operation of the kit alone is fairly ingenious. I usually discard the cheap plastic store packaging, but this is pretty innovative and looks sturdy enough to last. Time shall tell, but the included case is marvelous. It even has a built in clip so that I can just clip it to a storage bin in the truck, a toolbox drawer, you name it. And it all locks up so your little bits don't make a mess. Bravo. Someone did their homework and it shows. Easy to access everything, all the right bits, and not too much extra crap. Impressively crammed into a set the size of my fully open hand. Coming from a self professed "tool whore", this immediately became one of my favorite sets of hand tools. I hope this description helps you determine if this little champ is right for you.
