Are these bags biodegradable or compostable or both?

Our bags are 100% compostable, which also makes them automatically biodegradable. The difference is that biodegradable only bags (or companies that claim to be bio), often contain mini-particles of plastic, that once dissolved are impossible to filter out of soil, water sources, and so on - adding to the pollution issue.

The Alpha Pet bags contain absolutely NO plastic or micro-plastic, as they are made from corn sources (usually left to rot by farmers) and fully plant-based binding agents, making them fully approved to be composted in industrial composting facilities, as well as suitable for home composting piles.

Where are these manufactured?

Hi, Michelle. Our bags are currently manufactured in China, in an eco-friendly facility overseen by our local agent, and that meets the European standards for compostable packaging and products.

We're working on moving our manufacturing process and bring it over to Europe in the future, to lower transport-related emissions, but we're still struggling to find manufacturers here who can produce 100% plant-based bags that are 100% plastic-free - which remains our top priority.

As you can see, our bags are not only biodegradable but compostable as well, which means there are no micro-plastic particles left behind after they degrade.

Are the bags big enough for a large dog breed, like a husky?

Yes, the bags are 25.5 x 36 cm in size, with a 5cm side gusset, that allows for more storage. We've tested it and we can confirm that they are spacious enough for big dogs. In fact, you can fit about 9 tennis balls in one bag, with enough room to still tie it up mess-free.

It matters to me where they are manufactured as I don’t want to support the Chinese economy. It is misleading to falsely state where they are made.

Hi.....I feel same as you!....these are made from Cornstarch...compostible/biodegradable....box says "Austria"...but does not state where they are actually manufactured...I can say that I have ordered 2 lots...strong bags...Unless any other product can be me eco friendly I will continue to use.
