Outstanding Lock!
This lock is a beast! You can't pick it or bypass the shackle. Built to last forever. I purchased it for my Pelican 1510 tool box and my Pelican 1510 Camera box. I had to remove the metal tab on the tool box lock eyelet in order for it to fit once removed lock worked perfectly. I found that I had to use two locks on the Pelican case as, baggage handlers in Africa tried to lift the unlocked side bend the lid to try and get equipment out of my box. So I had to use two of these locks to make it as secure as possible for traveling through Africa. I would advise anyone who needs to use two of these locks to secure one tool box to get two locks keyed alike. This would allow for quick access to whatever it is your securing. I did however find that this model number lock will not fit a Pelican 450 Mobile tool chest, The chuckle opening is too short. So if you plan on protecting a Pelican 450 you'll need to order one with a wider shackle opening. Not a big deal as Sobo makes series sizes so I would advise you to take measurements prior to ordering.

Very good solid lock at a great price.
The reason I got 2 of this podlock is so I can connect my security chain to the sprocket and drive chain of my Motorcycle to keep my security chain off the ground and to connect my second security chains in different spots thru out the chassis of my motorcycle. I'll post pictures later so you can understan. The drive chain is close to 3/4 of an inch and my security chain is 1/2 inch so both of them together is about 1 1/4 inch and this lock have a gap of 1 1/2 inch. So it only leaves about a 1/4 inch gap of space to get access to the shackle and since the shackle is facing down to the ground is going to be nearly impossible to cut. Is one more lock they have to go thru to steal it. Is a way of giving a extra security with out having to pay a lot of money.

Impressive lock
I ordered 3 with same key. It comes with 4 per lock so 12 keys total. I put one on each key ring ( I have 3 vehicles, two sets each so I have 6 spares ) I use these on two storage lockers that I have and I have to say, the sturdiest lock I've evers used. Amazing quality. The bolt free turns so it can't be hacksawed or even a grinder would be difficult as there isn't much room but, a grinder will pretty much cut through anything so, nothings perfect. The bolt is very thick. I would say if you want something to be secured, you'll have a hard time beating these locks. Impressive is all I can say.

Excellent High Security Padlock
These are terrific, strong, locks - similar to the Abus Monoblock. I have 4 of them guarding heavy steel cabinets packed with our classroom supplies. I have no worries that the locks will fail before the cabinets do. They are hard to pick and difficult to drill or saw. One problem is you get 4 copies of each key and I have not found a way of duplicating them. I broke one key by accidentally dropping the lock with the key in it (they are heavy) and have no spare keys available for that lock. I bought a replacement lock and will swap it in as I need all 4 keys for various users. I highly recommend these locks.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Goblins
This is a relatively nice disc tumbler lock. It will significantly delay anyone who wants to pick it. (Disc tumblers can be picked with special tools, but it requires a more difficult skill set and special disc tumbler picks) I would say watch a few locklab videos on the topic. I picked this up to pair with a Pelican case (model 1170) and I can safely say it would just be easier to break the case. Unfortunately, with the 1170 model it does require the security hole diameter of the case to be enlarged slightly. I carefully secured the case with a vice and gradually enlarged the hole using a series of bits. I'm actually quite pleased with this pairing because it sits flush with the case and does not impair the case when laying on either side. It worked out well. Again, this is a bit too much lock for such a small case, but I don't have to worry about it being picked with a bobby pin. Onto the downsides! The fit and finish on the keys isn't super skookum, but that is a fairly mild complaint. If you give each key a twist about twenty times they smooth right out. I have a sneaking suspicion this is going to be the case for most tumblers of this type and they will wear naturally down to smooth operation. In fact, the primary key that I have the majority of the rotations on during refitting and toying with is quite nice now. Just don't be in a rush to use it immediately and give it a little attention. I've seen some pictures of snapped keys and complaints the key was too thin. This seems relatively fine from my perspective and time will tell if those were made from defective steel. I'm not going to attempt to snap one of my keys, but they resist mild punishment. Thankfully, I don't really have to worry about weather exposure on the smaller lock, but I do plan on deploying the larger one onto the shed. (I'll probably cheat and just grease it down with either a silicon lube or a bunch of moly grease).

VERY SECURE
This is a great lock for my storage container. It's easy and essentially unbreakable. Really feels secure.

Didn't last a year, locked once
Rocky 14:26:49 Can you turn the key at all or is it just bound all together? Joseph 14:27:22 I can turn the key fully, but the lock doesn't unlock Joseph 14:28:20 Occasionally I can feel some catch in around 90 degrees, but nothing happens. Rocky 14:29:10 Hmm. Alright. It sounds like something is bound up on the interior not allowing for the discs to engage and let the pull come free. How long have you had it, and where did you get it? Joseph 14:29:10 It's only been locked once- purchased a year ago, and locked onto a container. Never unlocked until this year Rocky 14:29:32 Okay. Has it been outside exposed to elements at all? Joseph 14:30:27 It's been on a container, so yes Joseph 14:30:52 but in colorado. Not in a salty or even particularly wet environment Rocky 14:33:46 Okay. The only thing that I can think is that there is some moisture that got in there and either rusted or seized up the rings on the interior side that is not allowing the pull to disengage. Your best bet unfortunately would be to use a cutoff wheel of some sort and cut through the shackle, or contact a locksmith to do so if you don't feel comfortable or have the tools to do so. Joseph 14:36:46 Well that's fantastic. Rocky 14:38:58 With it being about a year since it's been unlocked it is hard to say what could have happened. I am sorry there is not an easier solution to the situation, but that is the best option right now. UPDATE: Using a cheap blade on a cordless saws-all, I cut through the body of this lock in about 90 seconds.

Nice lock
It is a nice lock but I can't use it for the intended purpose. I purchased it for a storage unit and they way they are designed, it will not fit. Might want to measure before you buy.

What a fast
Don’t purchase these locks if you have security in mind as I have recently purchased two of them a month apart and unbelievably they are keyed exactly the same. What an absolute rip off especially when I’m trying to secure my worldly goods in a storage unit!!!

Best lock I have ever used
If you need to lock a steel shipping container or anything else that has a covered lockbox on it. This is the best lock I think you could ever use. With the pick proof key and the 7/16 " or 11 mm thick shank pin for you metric guys. The way it locks on the top end of the lock.. Even if you could cut the bottom of the lock off it doesn`t do any good because the lock pin is held at the top end. I use them on Sea Cans I have in my storage yard. Crooks have cut off pad locks but never this lock. Worth every penny. They come in Keyed alike on not Keyed alike. AL

Looks like a great product
I ordered this and right out of the box it comes with 4 keys. Feels like a good solid product. It’s shiny, so it looks great. Unfortunately in my case, the storage unit I was going to use it on has a very low locking mechanism and I’ll need a more conventional shaped lock, for me to be able to lock it. This locks shape doesn’t allow me to put the lock through the hole at all, because it’s 1/4 inch too shallow to reach. Unfortunate. Looks like a great lock.
