It does what it's designed to do
I have been thinking of the best way to describe this product, but I think everyone else has pretty much said it. It fills in the missing bass for the factory system. It's that simple. It creates the balanced system that should come standard. It would also be dependent on install location and the type of vehicle. If you put it under the drivers seat, it will be more prevalent than if you install it in the trunk. I did a ton of research on this before buying and I am satisfied with the purchase. That being said, I installed it in a 2024 Telluride with the Harmon Kardon system. Had no low end so this was desperately needed. I installed in the hidden trunk compartment in the floor. I can still use most of that compartment for storage. It was a simple install that took about 3 hours. I ran the high inputs from the existing sub thinking that system already had that signal filtered for lows only. I was correct. All I had to do was remove a few of the plastic pieces in the truck well and a screw to pop the rear of the side panel out. That's all you need to do to access the sub wiring. It's a dual voice coil so there are 2 channels. Tapped into that wire at the connector by inserting 4 small blade connectors in the back side of the harness. You can cut the wires, but I wanted to be able to return everything to factory if needed. After that, I grounded the amp to the inside well where the jack goes as there is already a hole there designed to ground the tow package. Then ran the power, remote, and volume control to the front. It was pretty simple and I didn't have to remove any trim. The wires are small an can be pushed up under fairly easily. There was one screw for the large side piece trim under the 3rd row. I used a stubby screwdriver to get it so I didn't have to take out the seats. Attached the remote wire to the ACC fuse with a fuse tap and attached the power wire to the battery. Put the volume control under the steering wheel. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! I have the gain at 3/4, the bass boost about the same, and the crossover at 70hz. The volume knob is at 50% so on those songs where I want more, I have it. Keep in mind that the signal is lower power than if I had tapped into the front speakers. I get zero distortion at any level and it sounds good. I can certainly tell a big difference even with the car loaded with suff. It doesn't rattle the mirror or any other interior trinkets, but the kick drum is there and creates a complete sound stage. Sound preference is subjective and I find that the more music I listen to the more I tweak everything. I like it and would recommend the product even at the price. Kicker makes good stuff IMO. As SO MANY OTHERS have said, look elsewhere if you want the window rattling thump, but you are in the right place if you want a factory setup to feel complete. Works great in the Telluride!

Those searching for just that little extra!!!
Let's get straight to the point. If you are looking to watch your car rattle, you came to the wrong place. Now with that said, if you are looking to upgrade your stock sound and get some bass in your vehicle. This is it. Thank of it as a surround bass for your vehicle. It come with everything you need, no extra wires or kits. The wires do seem small but we're not pumping a 1200 watt system here. It definitely added the missing bass in my 2022 Colorado. Sounds great and a decent price since it is Kicker! Fit perfectly under my back seats without removing anything stock. Great product if you are looking for just that little bit extra.

Sounds great, you MUST dial in the settings
Upgraded from a Kenwood 8" compact subwoofer to this Kicker 10" model, due to the 8" clipping at moderate volume. There is a lot more to work with at 10" for sure. Install went great, don't forget a KISL wiring accessory to be able to use RCA (low-input) connectors. Fits great under my drivers seat, cabling is well designed (use black heat shrink for your splices). Comes with a 15 amp fuse for the battery terminal, and has a built in 15 amp fuse at the amplifier, really solid design. I've installed a lot of subwoofers over the years, and holy moly did this one take some work to dial-in. Gain is set at 0 out of the box, and by zero, I don't mean 0dB gain.... I mean 0% volume. Hz range is from 50-120, only at 100Hz was this sub able to cover the full range of EDM I listen to, everything from hardstyle to happy hardcore. Great sub, plenty of power, and the volume knob is flawless. Expensive at nearly $300, but you get what you pay for, it sounds absolutely amazing. I don't need brain rattling, mirror-cracking bass, just some quality sound when paired with JL Audio 6.5" coaxial speakers, fills in the low-end very well. Very happy with my purchase, hopefully you will be do -- just remember to test, test, test those adjustment dials.

Simple add that inserts missing deep sound
**Update** After some tweaking and wiring changes; this now is actually a beast. I had to turn the bass down because it was over taking the mid and high range. Inside the gladiator you absolutely hear and feel it. Not vibrate your body feel but def feel it. The stock system is t putting out a ton of power so this isn’t getting all it can, but this 1000% increased the low notes and increases bass hits. It’s still new so hopefully it will last. I’m not the type the puts it on max all the time. It’s nice to know it’s there if I want it. I did get the second one but probably will return it. Now that i have it running properly; I don’t see how I could use two without upgrading all the stock mid/high speakers and adding amps to those. The low is so boosted that I have my stock set to -2 to force more mid/high range out of the stock roll and dash speakers. Even at this rate they are still taken over. Still dialing in gain abs x-over but will get there. For a little over $300 this is perfect for the value. **Original** This is def not a thumper. I’m not even sure how it would crackle it doesn’t seem to pull that much power. Coming from a Jeep that did thump with stock sub, this isn’t even close. However, having no bass for 2 weeks this def added that much needed bass for all notes. Still dialing it in. I’m not hearing any difference with and adjustments so far. I’m tempted to add a second to give it that little more but we shall see. Now being in a gladiator I’m limited on space. It currently sits blocked and I feel what is covering it is also absorbing some of the air movement. I may have to move it so there is a bit more space for air movement. It won’t be moving much air; but right. Or it’s moving almost none due to the way it’s positioned. Overall; it’s priced about right for what it does. You could spend a little more and get a decent thumper. It’s only 150w so don’t expect to get much out of it. But if you have no bass at all; you will be very happy with its addition.

Very impressed
Installed this in my 2021 Silverado 1500 under the rear left seat. I had a Kicker 10" sub in a downfiring box along with a separate amp but I didn't like the amount if space it took up so I chose this for the size and simplicity. It had enough power cable to reach all the way along the passenger side through the floor channel and into the engine bay with at least a foot of wire to spare. Ground cable was plenty long to ground under the rear seat. I did run a new turn-on wire from the fuse panel. I tapped into the front speaker wires under the steering wheel and ran speaker wire through the channel on the driver side back to the sub. Not gonna lie I was not impressed at first even after playing with the crossover and gain to where I knew it would be optimal. I drove around running some errands that evening wondering if I made the right choice because I just wasn't getting the sound I wanted. It was more of a cheap, dull thud. Let this thing break in! After about 2 solid hours of driving around this thing finally started hitting. It is very clean and will boom. It is more than enough for my full size cab. The enclosure is rugged. Hardly takes up any room under the seat. No separate amp to take up space and no extra wires. A lot of reviews are downplaying the bass this puts out, but it's way more than I expected. I can feel it through my whole body if I have it loud enough. Absolutely no regrets here. I got more than enough bass than was expected and it takes up so little valuable storage space. I don't know how it would sound in a big SUV, but for a truck with a full size cab or smaller this is perfect.

Ignore the Bad Reviews
Bad reviews for this sub (other than defective) must have not had the gains set right or used cheap thin wires. I installed behind the rear seat. It is great in my super crew F150. As many have said, if you’re looking to shake people in their living room as you drive by, this is not going to do that. If your looking for great bass in your vehicle, easy install, that don’t take up much space this is for you. If you have never installed a sub before search for instructions on how to set gain. Check voltage output on the speaker wires and match. Use sine wave tones from you tube not A radio station or other music. Then tweak over time. This unit was impressive on my initial settings. It broke in and I kept tweaking it for probably 3 weeks here and there. The starting point in the instructions were pretty close. It puts out amazing bass now with no distortion and no clipping. If you have not planned on it, you’re going to want new door speakers and a amp to drive them to keep up. It vibrates my mirrors when cranked up so much they are unusable. Drive safe!

Randomly stopped working
TLDR: don’t waste your time or money on the 8” or 10” Kicker hideaways Kicker typically makes some pretty good subs, however their hideaways are absolutely horrible. Prior to buying this in July 2021, I had the 8” version. I had that installed on 1/28/21 at Best Buy, however less than a month later I drove my truck to the airport with the sub working perfectly fine just to come back a week later to a blown sub. On 3/6/21 I took my truck back to Best Buy to replace the HS8, where they told me that the hideaways have a common issue where the just spontaneously break. I thought that would be the end of it, but 3 months later in June the sub stopped working again. I took my truck back to Best Buy to return the HS8 on 7/10/21. Since I already had the wiring hooked up for the hideaways, I decided to buy the HS10 on 7/13/21. I had hoped that since it was the bigger version that the quality would be better, and it was for a while. For 1 year and 8 months I didn’t have any issues, but on 3/19/23 I turned my truck off with the HS10 working fine just for it to not work anymore the next day. As of today, 4/25/23, the HS10 will only put out a noise that resembles aggressive TV static for a few seconds before it blows the fuse. I don’t listen to my music super loud or have the bass up super high, so there’s absolutely no reason for this to have stopped working after less than 2 years. Had I known what a nightmare both the 8” and the 10” Hideaways would have been, I would’ve gone with something else in the beginning. Unfortunately now I’ve wasted 2 years and $400+ with no way to even fix the HS10 since kicker doesn’t sell replacement parts.

YOU NEED THIS!!!
I have had this Kicker HS10 installed for just over a week now. I added the HS10 along with the “Plug & Play, (8) Speaker, Kicker KS kit from “Trail Grid Pro” when I upgraded the audio in my 2021 Toyota 4Runner SR5P. The HS10 is incredible! I just can not believe the amount of bass that omits from this tiny, sealed, short throw, compact sub. It is really amazing. Keep in mind you’re not going to be shaking windows down the street, but it definitely turns heads. The HS10 is designed to do just that and take up zero useable interior space. It blends seamlessly into the interior and is undetectable from the exterior of the vehicle. The 180w RMS/360w Max Class D amplifier is amazingly clear. The HS10 provides a very accurate and tight bass response and still has plenty of power to overwhelm the mids and highs when cranked up. The remote bass control knob is the cherry on top. It allows you to adjust the bass level to blend the bass response to the perfect degree with your mids and highs. I discreetly fit my control knob into one of the blank knockouts on my panel. No discernible indication of its presence from outside. The installation of the HS10 is not super easy. If you want to slap it in and go, this ain’t really for you. Installation in my 4Runner required exacting placement, consideration of under cartridge components, significant trim removal, seat removal, airbag SRS considerations, sealing up hardware from below, wire identification, running wires, splicing wires, proper crimping, heat shrinking, complete reassembly, proper torque of seat and seatbelt anchor bolts…1/2 of my T4R was torn out. Regardless of wether you are a meticulous DIY’er like me or you choose to have this HS10 professionally installed…YOU NEED THIS!!!

Excelente
Me encantó como se escucha en mi Toyota pickup cabina sencilla. Es ideal para mi, ya que no cuento con mucho espacio y suena bastante bien. Recomendado.

Compact but not lacking in sound quality!
Installed this in a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado and fits under the rear seats very well. The sound quality is amazing, and the control knob allows for easy bass adjustments on the go when installed under your steering wheel area.

Lo que buscaba
Si quieres retumbar las ventanas de tus vecinos este subwoofer no es para ti, si quieres un buen bajeo en el interior de tu auto o camioneta sin sacrificar espacio, es una muy buena opción

Works great
Used in my 2023 Ford Lightning. Fit right behind rear passenger seat and adds a decent amount of bass for its small compact size. Used high level inputs with factory components

Bueno
