Can this game be played solo?

The game is supposed to be played with a minimum of 2 players. When there are 2 players both players take turns with a 3rd imaginary player. More is better though. I suppose you could setup 2 more imaginary players and take turns. That would still be enjoyable.

How many players can play using the expansion?

The expansion doesn't add new pilgrim pieces--just gives more travelers to choose from--so the limit is still five players (and honestly, more than five players would create serious problems with space-denial).

One of the pictures shows miniature figures. Does this come with the minis?

This expansion does NOT come with the mini figures. That picture should not be in this post. Fun game

Played this game quite a few times with my family and always loved the game. It’s not overly competitive, nor cutthroat, but there’s definitely a lot of planning involved to make things happen haha. A fun buy if you’re looking to play a little more relaxed game.

It's a great game to play with family. It's a strategic game to accrue the maximum points while travelling from Tokyo to Kyoto travelling through inns, souvenir shops, temples etc. Different players have different strengths and bring something unique to the game. It's fun each time. And it's beautifully designed game.
