I’ve used a lot of drying towels over the years, and this one definitely stands out. The absorbency is excellent. It easily handled drying my 2025 Mustang with just a single towel, which says a lot about how much water it can hold. It glides smoothly over the paint and doesn’t leave behind streaks or lint, and more importantly, I didn’t notice any risk of scratching. The build quality is exactly what you’d expect from a premium microfiber towel. Thick, soft, and well-made. The only thing I’d change is the size. This one works great, but I do wish I had gone with the next larger option just to make the process even faster and require fewer passes. Overall, this is a high-quality drying towel that performs exactly as advertised. I’d absolutely recommend it and will likely pick up a larger one next time.

This review is for the 30" x 36" The Gauntlet Microfiber Drying Towel from The Rag Company. I've been using microfiber for years of various qualities and grades, and I have amassed a garage full of car care products over the years. I was looking for the absolute best drying towel that I could find for my car. I wanted something that was plush, extremely absorbent, and had some weight to it so that I could drag it over non-flat surfaces to absorb the water. I also of course wanted something that wasn't going to leave streaks of water behind. I did a lot of searching and going through many reviews. The absolute best drying towel I found was The Gauntlet. It does the job flawlessly. I am able to drag the towel across the car and absorb all the water without leaving streaks in just a single pass. I had no problem drying my car with just this single 30" x 36" towel. The plushness made it easy to dry vents, slats, and wipe down edges. I also very much like that each side is a different color. It is a nice convenient feature as you can keep track of which side you have been using so far. The towel felt like it weight about 5 lbs after I was done drying my car. This towel could have absorbed more water, as no matter how hard I squeezed or tried to ring it out not a single drop of water came out. I have seen multiple review where people were able to dry their entire car with just one of the smaller 20" x 30" sizes, and I fully believe it. I recommend consider the size and weight after it absorbs water, and go with the size you prefer. Pretty much all microfiber will work better after the first wash or two. This is so that any potential loose dyes come out, removes any potential residue/contaminants from manufacturing/shipping, and also opens up the microfibers. This will increase its cleaning and absorbency and reduce the potential for any dye transfer. Always be sure to wash microfiber only with other microfiber and to follow all directions. Microfiber gets ruined if you use fabric softener or if you dry it with heat that it can't withstand.

Great for after you wash your car. Picks up a lot of water, the car looks good, it is washable, and it is microfiber so it does not leave any scratches. I picked up another to always be sure I have one when I clean my car. This is a must have.

One towel was definitely more than enough to dry my 2018 Mercedes E400. I don't use ceramic coat or anything that would help water shed before drying as other reviews suggested but it didn't matter, I feel like I could dry my vehicle twice with one towel. I was a little skeptical when I got it because I've bought knock offs of products that seem identical to this and tossed them after they were water logged from the hood alone.

This towel is really good for dry car after carwash. It absorbs so much water and it does not leave lint behind like other brands. It is easy to wash in the machine and dry with high heat. It is so durable and thick. I bought another one because I have 2 cars. The only thing I don't like is the price.

This towel is the perfect size for mid size trucks and SUVs. A little too small for full sized. However the quality is absolutely amazing. Super soft and absorbent. The towl edges are nice too almost as if they doubled up the microfiber so it won't make lint or unravel after use. Would not worry about this scratching my vehicle at all with how plush it is. When your done it is easy to clean just throw it in the wash and your good. Seems to be really well made for years of use and being from a name brand I wouldn't worry about it.

I love these towels I use them to dry wheels and door jambs and will also use them to dry the vehicle when I do an occasional rinseless wash, they perform flawlessly and also clean up great and ready to go again!

I’ve never really used a drying towel before. I usually just let my car air dry, but this Goliath towel completely changed my routine. I drive a 2025 Hyundai Sonata Limited, and this towel easily dries the entire car with no issues at all. What really impressed me was that after drying my car once, I ended up having to rewash it and the same towel still had enough absorbency to dry it again. I simply drag the towel across the surface and let it do the work. It soaks up water effortlessly and leaves a clean, streak free finish. If it ever wears out, I won’t even think twice about buying another one. Highly recommended.

Not much upto the mark. Its not much recommended.

Amazing drying towel. Could easily do 2 vehicles with one use. Absorbs all water with a quick pass, very effective and soft so no worries about damaging paintwork. I would be careful with washing this product or using to dry off product as it may clog up the towel and reduce its absorption over time. I wash with fragrance free washing machine tablets at low heat and spins and leave out to dry in the sun to ensure absorption remains intact.
