Gamechanger! The cheapest anamorphic lens
I have all of Sirui's lenses released so far, the 24mm, 35mm and this 50mm that started it all. All I can say is this was the first anamorphic lens released under £1000 which in itself is a miracle. I have always wanted to have anamorphics since I was a teen and while this is not the full 2x squeeze this is still a unique lens by itself that I still marvel at the image that comes from this . The construction is amazing like the other 2 lenses it is solid metal with no plastic excet the caps. The lens itself is extremely sharp at F1.8 all the way down the aperture and bokeh is unique. But it is the flares that pops out of this lens the 24mm has the least amount of flares but this one can give you that JJ Abrahms look. One thing with all Sirui's lenses is that the coatings are different and this is gives a colour cast that is the coolest of the bunch while the other 2 leans towards a more warm tone so just bare that in mind when matching different lenses. Overall an excellent lens to start with and has changed the anamorphic game forever as new lenses will come out not just from Sirui bit other competitors as well. Sirui have also announced new lenses coming and that it will be a longer lens then this so keep an eye out but for now this is a great lens for close ups or even unique photography.

Very satisfied with the overall experience. Smooth transaction, great service, and a product that’s totally worth it. Highly recommend and would definitely buy again. Thanks!

Bought it - Love it!
Bought it - Love it! Apparently there’s a 35mm x1.8 in development; if so, I’d buy it also! Lovely image, nice and sharp.

Son loves this lens
My son bought this lens through my account. He had been researching anamorphic lenses for a while and this is apparently the first affordable one that he can use with his lumix gh5. Ordered at 4pm on Friday and was delivered lunchtime Monday to the UK. Really impressive as it came from Italy. I don't know much about this lens other than my son who is doing a film and TV degree is absolutely delighted with it.

Ho for a 35mm
It is certainly good but for me, 50mm is the wrong lens. I am going to save up for a 35mm or 28mm which should show the anamorphic properties better

Great lens at a great price
My first fauré into anamorphic filming and this is a very, very good, well made lens at a remarkably low price.

If you get a faulty lens it took a month of struggle to get a refund from this seller
This lens had problems. The flare was not straight as with other anamorphic lenses and there were issues with it on the GH5. Took over a month of struggle to get my money back from the seller too. Would avoid the seller at all costs. The lens itself may have been a faulty lens or they may all be the same... no idea since the seller was being so awkward
