I picked this up as a kitchen compost bin, but it’s turned into my go-to bucket for DIY projects, as I toss masking tape, paint scraps, old caulk, and other small waste in here, and it handles it without issue. The smooth interior wipes clean easily, the lid flips open and stays put, and the handle makes emptying simple. Upscaled my old on the counter plastic container for compost. I really like how it looks, and so far I can't smell a thing. I lined it with a small garbage bag so it will be easy to keep clean. Great product

Nice container - good size and easy to clean. After 2 years though the liner lets in water, and the interior has stained.

Our village recently added composting to our garbage pickup to keep compostable materials out of the landfill. While they provided a large bin that we keep outside, we needed something small to keep in the kitchen to hold compostable material temporarily. This has worked out perfectly for us. It's large enough that it can hold over a days worth and easily fits on our kitchen counter. The lid easily stays open while scooping in scraps and closes with just a tap, and sturdy handle makes it easy to carry to the big bin, and it's easy to clean. While this will work well with compostable bags, we've been using it bagless. So far we haven't had any issues with odor or bugs, but we tend to empty it out and rinse it out at least every other day, so nothing really stays long enough to cause a problem. This has helped us make a smooth transition to separating our compostable material instead of using the garbage disposal or putting it in our normal trash.

I’ve been really happy with this compost bin. The larger size is exactly what I was looking for because it holds plenty of food scraps so I don’t have to empty it nearly as often as my old, smaller bin. That makes a big difference in keeping the kitchen clean, especially when cooking a lot. Cleaning is quick and easy which I appreciate. The smooth interior wipes down without much effort, and that helps keep everything smelling fresh and looking tidy. Overall, it’s a well-designed bin that fits right into my kitchen without being an eyesore. I had guests over recently and they loved this bin so much they ordered one for their own kitchen while they were still at my house! Definitely recommend.

This bin does a great job. Put a small bag pin there and it will trap the smells, keep fruit flies out (very important and what many scrap buckets don’t do) and can be put in the corner out the way. It can hold a week’s worth of scraps typically. Make sure to wash it once in a while as you empty it and it keeps going. Well recommended.

My old compost bin was stainless steel and you had to push the lever at the bottom. What I LOVE about the OXO is it is hard plastic so won't rust, stays open so I can peel directly into it, is easy to clean, holds a good amount and has an attractive design.

The lack of corners inside and the removable lid makes this bin super easy to wash. It has a smaller footprint and doesn’t take up too much space on the counter.
