I am using this as a gimbal for a steadicam I'm building and it works great! There is no problem with it, but it is hard to assemble. I used needle nosed pliers to bend the plastic holes on the outside (where the metal ball thing attaches) just enough to slip the metal ball thing into place.This works great for what I need it for.(This is a lot smaller than the picture shows.)

Got this to make a steady cam mount. Don't be afraid to use a little muscle during assembly -- a pair of needle nose pliers is a requirement here. This is a 2-pack, you may want to order 1 unit more than you need in case anything happens to the plastic during assembly.

As many customers mentioned, I too purchased this in order to make a GoPro steadicam. It was quite the pain to put together and requires a special tool for assembly which is not included. I used pliers and pulled the tabs apart before putting the ball in. That helped a lot. Don't worry about breaking them. The tabs seem to have some give. Once it was together, it worked fine.

Glad I read the reviews on here. I did think it would break while I put it together. I just used need nose pliers. I very slowly applied pressure bending the plastic outwards to get the ball pin started, then pushed the ball pin down slowly until it popped in to the notch. Doing the second side was harder because the ball kept pivoting and moving around. It's really nice that this comes with two, so you feel a little more confident if you break the first one. Strong plastic and works great for my steadicam.

I used this universal joint to construct a steadicam for DSLR filming. Though I received the item without the tool used to put it together, I used a small wrench instead and it worked just fine.Assembly isn't necessarily easy, but there are a few little tips and videos on the internet to help you put the thing together.

I found the product does what is was intended for (building gimbel of Silver Flyer DIY steadicam). HOwever the assembly was difficult without a tool I've seen on a Youtube video. Be prepared to struggle assembling the 2 pieces onto the ball joint. But so far all seems fine with the completed assembly. I used a large flat-head screwdriver with blade width slightly wider than the 2 arms which hold the ball joint. Rotate the blade to spread/pry the arms apart and push the ball joint into place.

Una bestia del 93 muy divertida pero los materiales de ese coche son frágiles y los tuve que remplazar con este semiarbol de muy muy buena calidad sinceramente flexible para su instalación y duradero

Used this for a DIY glidecam (silver flyer!) that I built. I found it a bit difficult to put together but it does the job well.

Don't allow full 180 degree range since edges get stuck - sanded edges and things are better. Smooth within normal range though!

Worked beautifully, no problems and it came fast.
