That pump is strong enough. The air tubing looks to be the same size. If it's not, you can either use a simple hose clamp, or warm up the tubing to stretch it if the fit is tight.

What size diameter tubing do I need for the 5 gallon snake? It is larger then standard aquarium airline and I've read it's 3/8" and 1/2"

The 5 Gallon BubbleSnake comes with a fitting for 1/4" Inside Diameter tubing. Standard aquarium tubing is too small for the air pump we recommend. If you would like a fitting for 3/8" tubing, just let us know in the comment section on your order. We are more than happy to make it work for you.

Why does it cost 60% ($12) of the price to ship a piece of flex pvc to pennsylvania, that can be made for $7?

It’s a system ready for the person who has no time to build one of his own you are getting the kit but if you can build one your self for less power to you.
