Auto Shutoff Doesn't Work- Look Elsewhere!
My first negative review. (turns positive-read on) This was one of the highest priced iPad Mini cases and looked fine from the description. Snugg must be using feedback from other model cases - This feedback was out prior to the iPad mini release. It looks good and is a decent quality but one of the principle reasons I purchased this case was the Auto Shut off/on feature claimed to be present in the highlights and description. The functionality is either not present or doesn't work. For a $40 case this is unacceptable. I contacted Snugg but they have not seen fit to return my email in a day plus so here it sits on the box waiting to be returned.I purchased a 12.95 case which works perfectly albeit does not have as much padding. If Snugg contacts me with a suitable replacement strategy, I will amend this review, but it the meanwhile, if auto shut off/on is important for you- pass this by.UPDATE 11/17/12- I received an email from Snugg saying they were told of last minute changes by Apple and are going to give a replacement case to every buyer. They said this info was included with my case but if it was I did not see it. In any case, if and when I get my replacement, I will be happy to amend this review.UPDATE- 11/20/12- I received my replacement case very quickly. I would love to love this case as the design is excellent by the build quality is 3 ***. I picked a another case with the same functionality for $3 leas and though it doesn't have the with stitching, the build seems much better. Maybe I'll switch off. So it's a decent case for $25. A pretty good value but nothing to write home about. At this price point it is among the top 2 I've seen. An extra star for good customer service!

Pretty Good for the Value
Pros:Nice, good-looking, and functionally successful. I've dropped my iPad Mini a couple times and without this case I'm sure the damage I've experienced (surface damage) would be more than superficial.Cons:It's tricky to get the iPad in well enough to make it perfectly centered in the sleeve, but this is only a minor flaw. The little loop for holding a stylus, on the other hand, broke almost instantly. It may have been bad manufacturing on my specific item, but from what I can tell, one of the ends wasn't sewn down properly. Again, a minor flaw for me since I don't use a stylus, but it may be a bigger issue for someone with a stylus. One last downside is the elastic strap's construction: it generally feels sturdy but I do have some elastic that has come out and is a bit concerning to me since it's likely an indicator of poor construction.Overall:A good, sturdy case that will indeed protect your iPad Mini, but they skimped on the construction a bit. It may be poor quality control, but I would hope that the defects in my case aren't consistent across the board. Despite the flaws, the case is nice and a good $25 value.

Used Correctly, It Works Wonderfully
I purchased the Snugg iPad Mini Leather Case Cover and couldn't be happier. It does everything it should. It fits properly and looks great, and the leather is fine quality. The first day I had it, my grandson dropped it off the arm of the couch and there was no problem. However, I did have a moment where I thought something was wrong. I'll take a second to explain in case it should happen to anyone else. (Judging by the internet postings on the subject, it happens quite frequently with iPad Mini covers.) I put the case on my iPad mini and closed it, thinking the closure would turn the mini off as it does on my other iPads. It did not. I read a bunch of stuff online about how to go into the settings and press iPad Cover Lock/Unlock. Well, my iPad had no such setting. I read more. They said it's the third one down under Auto-Lock. It wasn't. Mine said, "Restrictions". Anyway, nothing I read explained it. I took the cover off and turned it around. I had it on backwards apparently. I couldn't tell the difference. Now, like magic, (either magic or, as explained online, there's a magnet of some sort under the screen) the iPad Cover Lock/Unlock choice appeared. I close my cover and the iPad shuts down appropriately.

Excellent product - fits like a glove
This is a great product and the price is right. I wanted the brown but it was sold out when I went to order (holiday season, understandable), so I stuck with the black. I am glad, it looks very nice. The leather is not real but it feels very nice and you can tell just by looking at it that it is a high quality, well-made product. It fits my ipad mini perfectly, no moving or shifting at all which is very important to me. Very minimal packaging too which I love, no fighting with a plastic container, just a simple plastic wrap and cardboard insert. The strap for the hand is brilliant, works like a charm - you can walk around wiht your ipad securely strapped on and not worry about dropping it. The ipad itself is velcroed in so there is no fear of it dropping out of the case. I don't use a stylus so have no use for the stylus holder, but it is a nice feature to have in case I ever decide to get one. The best thing about this case is that it feels nice. The construction feels solid and it does not feel like a flimsy, poorly held together product like so many these days are. Absolutely recommend this to anyone!

Not a lifetime warranty
Having owned one of these cases for the past 4 years or so, I decided that I would make a claim against Snugg's "Lifetime Warranty" statement that is boldly emblazoned across the product description. The faults that I was claiming against were:1. The elastic handle has failed and lost its elasticity and does not grip my hand so the handle is defective.2. The stitching has failed in a couple of places and the plastic faux leather is coming away.3. The plastic faux leather is peeling away from the case and flaking off in places4. The case no longer turns the iPad on or off when opening or closing the case.I wrote to Snugg asking them for clarification on the terms and conditions of their lifetime warranty. I am aware of what ware and tear is, however the failures are preventing the case from functioning on some of the key points for which I purchased the product.Amongst the responses the latest has confirmed that basically this is not a lifetime warranty but just a short term warranty that is no different from what you would expect when buying any product. The response to my query was as follows:"There are several attributing factors to what manufacturing issues includeIt is dependent on time frame and if you do get a case with a manufacturing issue then it will usually show within the first 3 months of use, it is of course also based on our own judgement when images and additional information is sent to usA general overview of a manufacturing issue isCase cracking / breaking within the first couple of months of purchaseFraying (early on)WarpingAll members of the TheSnugg team use Snugg products for all personal devices and so have an in depth knowledge of how and what happens to these cases "The product as a whole has protected my iPad well over the past few years. I am not slating the product for what it is or for how it has lasted. It functioned well within a period I would have been happy with. My frustration is against their lifetime warranty advertising which is clearly something that they are not prepared to stand by when it comes to a claim.

Don't be conned by the lifetime guarantee...
After 18 months of light home use, the leather on the case is cracked on the front fold, and flaking away on the corners. This is a shame, as I liked it. As a case it works well and protects my iPad - functional and just the right size. So a real shame it is already starting to fall apart. However, Snugg promise you a "Lifetime Guarantee" if you register your product on their website - which I did in February 2015, upon purchase. Now, 18 months later, having contacted them to report the fact that my Snugg case really isn't going to last a lifetime, firstly, they had no record of my registering the product with them. So I sent them the email they sent me, when I registered it, under my order number. So guess what - they replied and said because I ordered it from Amazon (not Snugg directly), it isn't eligible for the Lifetime Guarantee! Yet on the registration page of their website, you can clearly choose Amazon as option for purchase platform, and it doesn't say in the T&C that it must be purchased directly from them.Nothing like misleading your customers....

Does not wear well!
I liked it at first but you need to know this is what it will look like after a couple of years light use. It started to deteriorate quite quickly and after just a few weeks the "leather" edges were fraying and showing wear and the stand tab was splitting. The spine became very twisted and then the extremely thin covering of pseudo leather stared cracking. Very disappointing for a product that costs quite a lot and is supposed to have a "lifetime" guarantee which appears to be useless if the reports I read in reviews are to be believed. It is now embarrassing to take it out in meetings it has become so frayed!I also bought a similar Snugg case this year for my Samsung S7 and it is already showing considerable wear on the edges and around the closure flap. All very disappointing. My School Report on Snugg - NEEDS TO DO BETTER!

disappointed
Third case in less than three years so not indestructible; however, tougher than many and now cheaper. This one appeared a 'snugger' fit than the last, and not in a good way although from experience it will probably give a little.Update- wrong case bought! I reordered this believing my new iPad mini 4 would be the same size as my mini 2. Apparently the 4 is 3.2mm longer and the difference in fit is noticeable! Still disappointed with the durability though.

Excellent purchase
When I needed to replace my Kindle I bought an I pad and wanted a cover which would make it as comfortable to use as my Kindle had been, so when I saw this with its flipstand cover and hand strap, and read the reports it seemed to fill the bill. Now that I have it, I love it. It's comfortable to hold; its soft interior is pleasant on the skin; my I pad feels well protected and it stands well on the stand so that I can watch BBC I player etc. I am really pleased with it and should it every develop a fault it has a lifetime guarantee. What more could I want, and at the price, I have no hesitation in recommending it.
