Charging depends on what type charger you have. If your charger charges 100 % then stops, then the batteries can be left in the charger. I caution against buying these batteries because they have a larger circumference.

Everything I have read says to charge batteries for 8 hours. I put them in the phone and let them charge all night

Can these be used in solar lights?

Yes they can.. They should work great.. Charge fully before you install would be GOOD.. Make sure they get plenty of Sunlight too.. Geno In Idaho
