Ninebot 18" Kids Bike Ages 5-10, w/Aerospace Aluminum Frame, Enclosed Chain, Shock Absorbing Suspension, Disc Brakes and Kickstand - Red & Blue

Very nice bike for my 6 years old boy kid …we already got a gift for 14” now my kid is 6 years thi i another beautiful bike with correct price..

The good: 1) it looks awesome in person. Very well made and the soft pads are nice for my son to not smack his netherregends when dismounting from his new big boy bike 2) it took me 15 minutes to put it together and another 5 minutes to cut the seat down 2 inches so he would be able to fit on it. (He is 5 years old and 46" tall. His legs were just a bit too short to reach the ground so I used a saw zall with a metal blade...you could use a cheap metal pipe cutting blade from home depot if you don't have a sawzall...and I took the seat off, cut the long pipe on the bottom and then put the seat back on. Boom...he fits the bike perfect now and there is plenty of length left to raise it up as he grows. I would imagine he will fit this bike for at least 3 more years or more now. 3) the chain is enclosed which is AWESOME. I dont see the chain popping off of the gear at all and it looks like it opens easy so I can grease the chain every so often to keep it riding smooth The bad: 1) the front brake lever is a cheap plastic...for a kids bike this expensive I don't know why they didn't use a metal break lever as I see this one breaking the first time he inevitably drops the bike on the handle bar when jumping off of it. I plan to change this out with a metal one which will be very easy to do but seems silly given this is an expensive bike for a kid and I don't understand why at this price point they would use a cheap plastic lever when everything else is built of good quality from what I can tell...this goes the same for the pedals being plastic but I actually prefer this for him right now given I could see him splitting his shin on them as he continues to get better and better on the bike so I'll let that one slide.

Very cute and sturdy little bike for kid. Super easy to put the parts together. And my 7 years old used it for the Kid’sTri and has been able to enjoy family biking time for a whole season. This bike held up well (with all the falls and little bumping incidents). I’d highly recommend this bike.

Let me get it out right from the beginning: the bike is ok, it is sturdy, nice looking, easy to ride and overall fun. The reason for one star is the customer service. Month after the purchase, while my kid was biking, the brakes handle broke off. Not going to discuss the quality of material, that was in fact sole episode, the rest of the bike, and the second one (i got two, one from amazon, another one from the manufacturer itself) were in tiptop shape. But the amount of hoops i had to go thru to get a spare brake handle is unbelievable: first its almost impossible to reach the customer service, call wait is over 40 minutes, and the emails they are not responding to; secondly, once i actually managed to submit a ticket, they kept silent for a month, a MONTH! i had to call em again just to fin out there was some information was wrong. if only they have reached out to me and asked for clarification, but that would be too much, wouldn't it, segway? and once i actually got all the information they required to them, and after the confirmed they have sent out the part - there is nothing. its been 2 months, no parts, no emails, no calls. Just silent. Even my ex treated me better. shame on you, guys.

Update: Segway got the parts and replaced both the kickstand and seat! Original review is below, but another customer service representative updated the response and we received a new kickstand and even seat. Nine year old really happy with bike and we hope he can enjoy it for several years. I'm glad for the correction, and would recommend this bike. It is light weight, has great brakes, and is a good size to let kids have an adventure but ride safely. We chose to buy this bike for the Segway name, the aluminum frame, and the 18" option, and while the bike was well received by the child it was intended for, there are some major disappointments. The kickstand is fully broken, though appeared intact, so that when used, it simply folded in two and the bike tumbled down. Also, the top of the seat is in great shape, but the underside has snagged leather/vinyl to the point the foam shows. There are free returns, but with the fame, brakes, etc. all seemingly in good shape, we chose to forgo that and just contacted Segway for a kickstand and seat, but have had nothing but emails rerouting us, offering a small percentage of purchase price to a "Segway account," or asking us to rate their service for a week now. I suppose I can return - whether to exchange or for a full return, but I am disappointed that Segway doesn't just want to make this right in the easiest way with less waste and less burden on shipping with the shipping of an entire bike at a time UPS is famously overloaded. Also, we bought a bike to use it immediately, and do not want the delay of going back and forth with CS to get it fixed. To date, I have sent emails, pictures, and all of my Amazon order information. I read a prior review about a customer receiving a bike without a pedal, and I figured I should share my experience before others make the $250 purchase, and maybe this route will work better Segway standing behind their brand and replace with a functional kickstand that won't have more bikes either unsupported, or worse, seemingly supported and then crashing down. Kids may be hard on bikes, but a brand new bike should be nearly flawless, and all hardware should be made to be sturdy for everyday use. This flaw out of the box seemed like no big deal- just a busted kickstand that could be replaced with on up to par and the subsequent seat snags which could both be backed by Segway and back to us being confident in their brand, but unfortunately, they have yet to make the situation right.

Was an anonymous gift to a child in need. But.... the shipping was fast and great. No damage and assembly was nothing. Just attaching handlebars and wheels.

Good bike. Having a rear disc brake and some gears would make it a great bike. But for the price I'm not sure that can be expected. The soft cushioning on the frame is a nice touch. The fully enclosed chain is unnecessary. I'm not sure it adds much to the experience and is quite noisy as the chain rubs on the plastic. There is a limit to how much the seat can be lowered, so it might be too tall for shorter kids.
