Fantastic bread knife!
Great knife! Good weight and well balanced, just the right size- big enough for most jobs but not too big. And it's sharp, excellent at cutting bread with a substantial crust like sourdough! Best knife the cook in the family has ever had.

Super Knife: Great Tool at a Great Price
I love this knife. I bought one for my daughter's family and liked it so much, I bought one for myself. It is extremely sharp and sturdy. The handle grip is perfect. It feels very balanced. I think it is a great value for the money. I use it as my "go to" for daily use.

These are larger, heavier, knives, so easier to use for larger hands and arthritic hands great buy!
Love these knives. They are a step up from my higgledy piggledy collection acquired over the years. They are sharp, hold their edges well, have a nice balance, and easy to grip handles, larger than most knives out there, and rounded so good for both large and arthritic hands. They a full length tang. The wooden handles are stained black and I love the feel of them- it was one of my reasons for choosing this line - but it may be a negative for some, as these cannot go in the dishwasher, and must be hand washed. This line has an impressive range of knives, more than enough to suit most home cooks needs. The only knife that I have needed that is NOT in this line - so far - is the bird-beak peeler, hint, hint 😉. They feel similar to much more expensive knives. I started purchasing these two years ago, and use them daily, and they still look new. They seem very durable, I expect to have them a very long time. The blades are a bit larger, heavier and thicker than I am used to so there was a bit of a learning curve adapting to that, but once I got the hang of it, I was amazed how much easier many tasks became, as the weight and size of the knives did most of the work. have slowly purchased almost the entire set. Love them.

Sharp blade - sharp handle!
This is my second knife from this company - my earlier purchase of a shorter paring knife turned out very well. As before, the new knife came expertly packed and presented. I was quick to test the blade, which I thought needed a bit of sharpening, but was shape-perfect for my use. It was the handle that presented a problem, though. The fine steel tang that runs all the way through the handle is riveted in place, and "should" be ground down so that it is flush with the wood surround. However, this was not the case with my new knife. The steel stuck up just slightly above the wood, presenting a very sharp edge that could cause a minor cut if not properly handled. What to do? Well, I took a small file and spent about ten minutes filing down the steel until it was flush. Scarred the handle just a bit, but better that than to face possible hand-cuts! Now? Ah, the knife is just fine, and I'll make it the center of my food preparation. Good, solid knife - happy story ending.

Your Life is Better in the Kitchen With the Right Knife
How have I played cook all these years without this knife? It is the best balanced knife in my hand and super sharp! I've even used it to cut sourdough bread :). Perfect slice. But I bought it for the overall utility needs for cutting and slicing. I'll be slowly investing in the entire collection. My life is better in the kitchen with a sharp knife!

Makes meal prep a joy
This is an exceptionally good knife. It's beautiful, beautifully engineered, and beautifully packaged in a box with a foam insert and magnetic flip-top lid. (I recommend you keep the knive in that box -- for its, and your, protection). I was looking for a new paring or utility knife and first looked at Japanese knives. But the "Japanese" knife I almost bought was made in China. I kept looking and in my search I happened to see a link to this knife. I was impressed with the description, what it's made from, how it's made, and with the positive reviews I read. The German engineering is top-notch. I used the knife for breakfast the first morning after I got it, and again to make supper. I know I will use it pretty much every day. And what a joy it is to use. (When you're cooking there's nothing so annoying as a dull or bad quality knife.) Just a warning -- which likely doesn't need to be said for most of you, but I will say it anyway: Do be careful: it's VERY sharp. I've been cooking, and thus using sharp knives, for decades, but even I managed to knick my right index finger this morning. Nothing serious, just a fleeting attention lapse. But attention lapses can be serious to lethal when you're using knives like this! On the other hand, I guarantee that properly using this knive will be a pleasure.
