The best eyelash curler.
Curls better than any other eyelash curler. This is the 2nd one I bought just to make sure I had an extra. The first one is still going strong.

PERFECT for Asian eyes!
LOVE this eye lash curler! It has been a game changer for me. I did not know there were different depths to reach the outsides of the lash line. Perfect for Asian eyes and mono lids. I would highly recommend. I thought the price was expensive for an eye lash curler, but well worth the money!

Makes short lashes on flat eyelids POP!
I have used eyelash curlers before and was curious at what makes this curler better than others. The fit of this curler fit my eyelid better. It fit flush against my eyelid. There is no pinching or pulling of the few, short eyelashes I have. I had given up on mascara for years, but thanks to this curler, my eyes have opened!

Essential for makeup lovers
I was influenced to buy and I’m glad I did. Its curve is tighter than others making it capture all the lashes easier. It’s just a little pricey is why I’d give it 4.5 stars.

Excellent!
This is the best eyelash curler on the market I feel. I used to be only able to find it at Neiman Marcus for twice the price.

Good concept, poor design.
I like the fact that there are no stops on either side of the curling line that you have to fit your eyelashes into. I like the fact that it is relatively easy to use. But I wish I'd paid closer attention to the one, two, and three star ratings. The first time I used it, the rubber pad fell out. I didn't notice it, and wondered why I kept getting a weird crimp in my eyelashes. I finally emptied my cosmetic bag, and found the rubber piece. I replaced it multiple times, and even resorted to Elmer's glue and super glue. Nothing holds the rubber in place. I've thought about taking a regular eyelash curler refill, and trimming to fit. But then I noticed the reason my eyelashes were crimping weird (when the rubber did stay in) had to do with the design of the eyelash curler. If you'll notice, all other eyelash curlers strike the rubber perpendicularly, or at a 90 degree angle. And, on all other eyelash curlers, the portion that strikes the curler is straight, but slightly curved horizontally, following the curve of the rubber portion, the way the edges of a cake pan are straight, but slightly curved to make a round cake. The Shu Uemura S eyelash curler has (at least) two design flaws: (1) the metal piece that strikes the rubber is angled outward (not perpendicular) at about 120 degree angle and it is straight for about 3/16 of an inch, (2) then the metal, under the white cap, bends backwards at a weird angle. There is no way this would ever make an upward curl in your eyelashes. It is physically impossible, based upon the shape of the top metal edge, attached to the white cap. You might get an "S" squiggle, instead of a nice upward curl. I consider myself a pro eyelash curler user, using an eyelash curler daily with a couple of coats of mascara. I have large, down-turned, deep-set eyes; I find it impossible to snare the outer eyelashes with a conventional eyelash curler. I purchased this to supplement my regular curler. I am now going to try a different brand of narrow eyelash curler for my outer lashes.

The BEST
This tried and true eyelash curler is the best of the bunch! I don’t know what little trick they’ve figured out or what kind of sorcery this is but the results are phenomenal and reliable, seriously this little gadget never has “off days”. I wouldn’t own anything else.

I see the difference, worth it... works on deep-set eyes
There's a lot of mixed reviews on here, many from about 2010-11 bemoaning receipt of a "fake" curler. That problem seems to be past now going by most recent reviews. My curler came from vendor "effective shop japan" and I'd say I got the real deal. The curler itself was an insane $4 and change, while the shipping brought the total up to $21. It arrived well packaged- the small inner box was packed in another heavier cardboard box with newspaper for padding. The newspaper was in Japanese, and the mailing stickers on the box indicated shipment from Japan. The white inner box was stylish and looked authentic. The bag inside held the curler, and another tiny ziplock bag with an extra replacement black silicone pad. Directions for use were on the inner box, along with a few tips. The silver curler had an authentic looking Shu Uemura engraving on it and seemed tight and well sprung. The replacement pad was similarly stamped. Straight to the mirror I went. I have very fine lashes on deep-set eyes. In the past my problem with curlers was that they were hard to get in deep and close enough to grasp the lashes at the base, and even when maneuvering as best as possible, at least three attempts per eye were needed to get all the lashes (not just the majority at the center) by doing center, inner, and then outer lashes. This baby was a different story. It must be how the product is angled away from the face, and the curve of the pad. I could get the curler right in close to the base of my lashes, and I didn't need to make multiple attempts to get it lined up - before squeezing down, I could see ALL my lashes sticking through the curler. One gentle, sustained squeeze later, ALL my lashes were curled from corner to corner. Beautiful! The other eye went as well. I did not need to do as suggested, by pulling back and doing a second squeeze at the middle of the lashes, and another at the tips, because one good line up did enough, and very well. One funny bonus... I had stopped using curlers because they were such a hassle, and now that I have one that works simply, and I use it regularly, I can actually SEE better! I had not realized how much my drooping lashes had been cutting into my field of view. I had really wondered if I was buying into a myth by paying $20 for an eyelash curler that might be got at a drugstore for far less, but I am wondering no more. Very glad I took a chance and shelled out for this.

I just repurchased this and have used it for ~15 years. It is the only curler that I have found specifically for Eastern European/Asian/Hooded/Almond-shapes eyes. It's worth every penny.
