Winsor & Newton Calligraphy Ink, 30ml (1-oz) Bottle, Black

Needed for a class and worked well. Good color as well, stains clothes easily.

I will be buying other colors to work with! :)

I was under the impression it would have more red tone to the color but it’s just a neutral sepia. But it’s a nice ink anyway! I diluted it 1:1 with distilled water and it worked wonderfully with my vintage nibs. Maybe I’ll look for some red ink of this line and see if I can mix my ideal color.

Bought for my granddaughter and she really likes it.

The color is black is very nice. It has a glow after finish. The ink did not flow well from the pan until I added teaspoon of water to the bottle. May be less than a teaspoon is better. One has to adjust. Otherwise it is good value and will buy again.

I disagree with others who have down rated this ink. First of all, it is NOT meant to be used in fountain pens, calligraphy or regular. It is meant for use with pointed pens, and you have to rinse and gently dry your nib fairly often. I have used these inks for a few years and have been happy. If it doesn't behave as you want with your dip pen, clean and dry your nib and then rub it with gum Arabic. You can also add a few drops to the ink. This is a bright Christmas red! Like most inks, it will feather if your paper is poor quality. The other red that they offer is much darker. If you still have problems, make your own ink with gouache, distilled water and gum arabic. Hope I have helped!

I like to do Inktober every year and I bought this ink specifically for that. The previous year I had just used a basic India ink by Daler Rowney and while it did the job, it was a little tough to work with. Using this ink by Windsor & Newton was like night and day in comparison, it's amazing to work with and the Blue Black color is gorgeous! It adds so much depth and interest into your work. I never used it with a dip pen so I can't speak on that but it works brilliantly with a paintbrush. I created 31 pieces with it last year and still have over half a bottle so it will definitely last a long time. I would and definitely will be buying this again! Xx

No es muy espesa pero tampoco demasiado líquida, es un término medio pero tirando a líquida, no se exparce y queda la tinta en el papel.
