Amazon Basics Electric Coffee Grinder, Coffee Bean and Spice Grinder, With Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Grind Blades

Good quality and has worked well every morning makes a very fine grind

I was needing ro replace my older spice grinder. Since I’ve had good luck with Amazon brand products in the past, I decided to purchase this spice grinder. I love my former spice grinder because I can actually take out the grinder section (the part with the blade). This Amazon Basics grinder doesn’t have this feature. Like my previous grinder, this grinder has only a single grinding speed, but it does the job, and I was able to grind Szechuan Peppercorns to a nice consistency. This grinder isn’t loud, so it won’t hurt your ears, and the grinder holds enough spices so that you can pre-grind as much as you might need. I haven’t measured the inside, but as you can see in the video, the grinder is large enough to hold at least a quarter cup (or thereabouts) of peppercorns. Overall, this grinder is a good price for the duty it will do in my kitchen.

I am impressed with this grinder especially since it was one of the lower priced coffee grinders. It is a solid made grinder, works fast.

I am confused by the product description of this product on Amazon. It is described as a coffee bean and spice grinder. However, when I received it and read the instructions, it says it is only intended to be used for small quantities of coffee beans. I quote from the product booklet on page 3 of it's instructions..."This product is intended for grinding small quantities of coffee beans. This product is not intended to grind spices, pepper or other foodstuff." (look at the photo I included) I have not tried it on any spices, but it does work fine with coffee beans, with the ability to grind it from course to fine, depending on how long you grind it. I like that it is small, so it does not take up much counter space. It is simple to operate and the bowl part that holds the beans is metal instead of plastic. The bowl can not be detached for washing, so do not emerge it in liquid. The cord is plenty long to plug it into an outlet. The blades do not seem sharp to the touch, but they get the job done. Over all, I like it. I didn't give it a five because Amazon's product description does not agree with the manual that comes with it. Update: Today I wanted to add flax seed and sunflower seeds to some homemade bread. I had to use this grinder, and it did work okay. I'm not sure what consistency seeds are supposed to be ground to for bread making, but it did grind the flaxseed and sunflower seeds okay. The bread is yummy, so it works for me. I wiped out the bowl of the grinder afterwards to get the seed residue out of the grinder bowl. It would be a good idea to have two grinders, one for coffee beans and one for seeds, but it worked in a pinch.

This thing dosent work very good. Coffee grounds get in the little hole that supposed to make motor go and then it won’t work. I got a different one and did the same thing.

I really like this grinder. Bought it for grinding spices, so far has worked really well. It's compact so can't handle a huge quantity at a time, but does a good job of grinding quickly. I am a bit confused because the instruction manual says it's not for grinding spices yet it's listed as a spice grinder. Anyways, I'd gladly purchase again for my spices.

Yes, it will grind things. I use this for coffee at the moment, but I have a few gripes. First, there is no cup, so you have to turn the entire grinder upside down to shake out the contents, which invariably results in a mess. Second, the lid does not always sit neatly on the first try so it can take some finagling before you’re able to run it successfully with the button. Third, the grind is not great, which is exactly what you would expect for this price point. Functional for someone on a very tight budget, but I will be upgrading in short order.

My wife ordered this because our old one quit working grinding our coffee beans. She has only used it twice, and seems to work well.

Seems to handle about half a cup of coffee. Works well.
