WW2 Italian Bomber
Designed in 1933, the Savia Marchetti S.79 was faster than many of the bi-wing fighter planes that would have opposed it. This plane saw service in WW2 not so much because it was a war-winner, but rather there was nothing else that was better. The Italian Air Force knew this, but did the best they could. Roughly the same size and performance of the early B-25 Mitchell, the S.79 was not suitable for major changes or upgrades to improve its capabilities. There are many b&w photos, crisp and clear which is unusual for pictures of this time period. Plenty of line drawings to show you the changes made in the different versions and two pages of color drawings to show the different camouflage colors used. And there were a bunch of them. An absolute must if you're building a model of this plane, but also very interesting to history buffs, aviation fans, those who have an interest in the Mediterranean Theater of War during WW2. This plane always caught my eye, and the book was very good, informative and gives a good idea of some of the aviation war from the Italian perspective.
